Hey everyone,
I work as a freelance developer/designer, and I’ve been having a really hard time staying consistent when I’m working alone. When there’s no manager, team, or external pressure, I tend to procrastinate way more than I’d like to admit.

It’s caused me real problems — delayed deliveries, stressed‑out clients, and that awful mix of guilt and anxiety that comes afterward. I’m trying to understand what actually works for people who deal with similar patterns.

A few things I’m curious about:

  • What’s your go‑to method for beating procrastination when you’re working solo? (Pomodoro, body doubling, accountability buddies, routines, apps, etc.)
  • What’s the part you struggle with the most — the starting, the staying focused, or the finishing?
  • If you’ve found something that genuinely keeps you accountable, what made it effective for you?

I’d really appreciate any honest experiences or strategies. I’m trying to build better habits and understand what actually helps people in similar situations stay on track.

Thanks in advance for sharing.

Hey everyone,

I'm a solo founder building a tool for people like me — freelance developers/designers who are skilled but constantly struggle with procrastination and missing deadlines, especially when working without a manager or team.

I've lost clients before because of delayed deliveries and poor communication, and the guilt + income loss has been brutal.

Quick questions for you:

  1. What’s your current go-to method to beat procrastination? (Body doubling, Pomodoro, accountability buddies, apps, etc.)
  2. What’s the worst part of procrastinating for you personally? (Lost money, reputation damage, shame/guilt, anxiety, etc.)
  3. If there was an AI voice agent that could actually call you on the phone (like a strict but fair boss) when it detects you’re avoiding a task, and adapt its tone based on your mood — would you try it? Why or why not?

I'm trying to understand the real pain and what kind of accountability would actually help, rather than just another todo list that gets ignored.

Any brutal honesty or stories are very welcome. Thanks in advance!

(If you're interested in testing an early prototype, feel free to comment or DM me.)
