I am looking at upgrading the house battery in my van. I found a new, in box, battery of fb marketplace that I’m considering. The battery is an SOK 280ah, self heating with Bluetooth. The battery itself was in the original shipping box, unopened. The history is that it was purchased in August 2024 from SOK and has been in a storage unit unused since then. When we opened it initially, the voltage read 10.9V and we couldn’t get into the Bluetooth at that time. The seller let me take the battery home to put it on my charger to see if it would wake up and take a normal charge.
When I got it home, put my charger in it (trickle charger) I was able to connect to its Bluetooth a couple hours later. The SOC was ~70% initially and is now around 85 after a day or so on a slow charge. All the cells seem very close in voltage and the total voltage reads 13.33. It all sees to be looking ok but the volts from each individual cell is 3.333-3.335V. I’m reading that is kind of low? Do I need to be concerned about that reading? Attached is the readout from the app the battery is connected to.
Is this a good purchase? Reasonable life left in the battery? Should I suspect damage from storage?
