Guys…what a show! each episode progressively got better keeping me hooked till the end
and….
Thats how you make a finale….drama, comedy, romance(some banger love scenes btw),action, redemption
This one truly exceeded my expectations(what i anticipated from the pilot)

Lal kicking Korn’s ahh has to be one of the highlights lmao…well deserved

KAPOOKCIIZEE?? hand them their own series asap istg….easily one of the best gl kissers

AND I have to talk about the screenwriting…like the dialogues genuinely hit right whether they are emotional or meant for comedy….EwB has got to be the example for what engaging screenplay looks like in the genre of rom-com

All the praise to JanJingjing for giving us such iconic and deep/layered characters who we can genuinely relate to as an audience….the communication is truly one of the healthiest we have seen in gls so far and the misunderstandings too are so real and cute too sometimes

“Three whole months” part really got me lol(cause like Lal ig we all thought she’s gon go to Japan for a permanent job😭😭)

The very iconic… Popcorn scene was not forgotten yayyaaa

The Bakelovefeeling tease genuinely got me excited for that one…I love View’s look there

Bas and Numnim werent annoying as I was afraid they might be😭….infact the Sales team family is one of the refreshing parts of the show!

Medsai girly betrayed us so bad haha but I sense a lot of potential for a gl in Jamie…shes so prettyy

But in the end dry sundays incoming ig😔

So yeah these were my not so organised thoughts rn :)

Dont forget do drop yours too;)

FreenBecky did it again…..holy performances!!

What a Finale!…so many memorable moments that stole my heart

The yearning phase to finally marrying the love of your life this episode was such a wholesome ending to Air

There was a point when this ep felt like kdrama level (no comparison but if ykwim) production especially with the letter scene they nailed the emotions…made me cry

The scene where Blew wakes up to the four little girls who bring her to Lom was so adorable I cant-😭😭🤚🏻
The proposal scene is hands down one of the best for me now

Freen has the most expressive pair of eyes I have seen and that feeling of wanting someone from the bottom of your heart could be felt directly
even Becky’s performance was so good as someone who is tied between duty and love…the ethical dilemma is very well presented

The chemistry between all the family members(the cousins and Lom’s parents) deserves all the praise….the interaction of LomBlew with the parents was so cute
And Lom’s mom was highkey serving face like woahh

And ofcourse the kisses….the drought from 7 episodes came to end with the banger kissing scenes as expected of FB

I will fs miss the Air😔😔 (despite of some shortcomings yes) though this episode was very curatedly put together and was a solid conclusion to this series

Now eagerly waiting for the Fire haha!!

Ps:dont forget to drop your opinions on the series ;)

ILF Ep3 was good….

I LOVED THE EPISODE….Chemistry was overflowing
AND DID THEY OPEN THEIR MOUTHS WHILE KISSING???….The way I almost screamed like damn
LingOrm can def kiss if they do it this way

Runch is so whipped and I am so here for it

The mom is just so frustrating like here Neen’s whole family is trying so that they dont divorce and she singlehandedly makes everything worse

With some scenes they’re never beating the ormling allegations lmaoo😭😭

and why are they so freaking gorgeous and serving outfits every episode….

So far ILF has gotten my hopes up(esp with today’s adorable episode)…lets see what’s in store

I LIKED AIR EP6

Okay a lot happened in this episode plot wise and its goodd
I realized no one does somethings like FreenBecky like bruh they still made me giggle, blush and cry and
in the same ep
The eye contact gurlll….I know its a slowburn but I can feel the intimacy and chemistry burning through the screen esp in the hospital scene(I was all red when they were talking about how they cant sleep😭😭)
The action was quite better…I liked the shootout scene asw
FINALLY… the sisters were back and I had a good laugh at P’Din and P’Nam’s reactions while Fai just trying to mediate peacefully lolll
We got a Rose Lada(ik she has smelled it from a mile away about what’s goin on lmao) and Blew interaction yayayya

The confession scene got me… So well acted out that you can see Blew’s confusion yet a firm denial/rejection and Lom I love how when asked she wasn’t ambiguous about it and does not shy away from calling her feelings “love” towards the princess

This ending gets me excited for the next episode ahhhh(7 years until saturday😭)

Lemme know what you guys think

PS: The subtitles today were sure a big issue today idk whats wrong💀

Anddd also Becky was looking extraa fine in this ep omg

Comedy in gls

Ok hear me out on this one
I have been watching EwB and 4E
and one thing I can say for sure is some gl actresses have that comic timing on screen that just makes you laugh even if the joke’s not the best

I am talking about Janhae as Lal
And
Freen as Lom
The expressions are hilarious that they communicate with the audience right away whether its playful jealousy, nervousness, or pure chaos
They are effortlessly funny fr
I would love to know what you guys think pass as the best onscreen comics
LMSY also have fair comic timing as I saw in htr
and Lingling’s confused and nervous expressions in TSOU get me everytime😭

(and you guys can def drop your opinions and jokes here🥰)

PS: I had dropped the show after ep7 and just caught up on the horrors of what went down the rest of the episodes(tawan singing and the kidney trope)...I was apparently living under a rock lmaooo

Girl Rules: The Best GL on Paper?

Well, Girl Rules was... something.

This is my completely honest opinion as someone who has been hyped for this show since the pilot dropped.

In fact, GR was probably the GL I was looking forward to the most in 2026. I followed every update, watched the trailers multiple times, and genuinely believed this had the potential to become one of the defining GLs of the year.

Which is exactly why I'm walking away from it feeling more disappointed than angry.

THE GOOD

The cast

Let's start with the obvious.

This cast was insane.

NamtanFilm, MilkLove, ViewMim, plus appearances from Emi, Bonnie, Ciize and Kapook? On paper, this was genuinely one of the strongest GL ensembles we've seen.

Not only are these actresses popular, but they're also performers who can actually deliver when given good material.

The characters

One thing I absolutely loved was how distinct the characters felt.

Bambi was messy, troubled, emotionally dependent and impossible to ignore whenever she entered a scene.

Shasha carried that confident "playgirl" image while hiding years of pain and trauma underneath.

Gorya was fiery, stubborn and protective.

Prim was a successful director who seemed strong in every aspect of life except when it came to love.

Praew knew who she was and what she wanted.

Min's journey of self-discovery had a lot of potential.

Nobody felt bland, and that's honestly one of the biggest achievements of the show.

The performances

The actresses carried.

Whenever the writing gave them scope to work, they absolutely delivered.

Film deserves special praise because Bambi's emotional scenes were some of the strongest moments in the entire series. Her breakdowns, vulnerability and emotional instability felt raw and believable.

Prim's heartbreak scenes, Shasha's backstory, Gorya's softer moments beneath the attitude, there were so many moments where the acting elevated material that wasn't always as strong as it could have been.

Chemistries and the banter

Honestly, this might be the reason many of us stayed invested

The chemistry between the actresses was fantastic

Whether it was romantic tension, jealousy, rivalry, flirting, banter

Bambi and Gorya's interactions about prim and the later softer moments too

Shasha being Shasha (afterparty and condo are the key words here btw)

The couple crossovers

Even when the plot wasn't moving, the dynamics between the characters often created enough excitement to keep viewers talking every week (they genuinely felt like people whose lives had become interconnected through friendship, work, love and shared experiences)

The first half

The first half of the series genuinely had me hooked.

The messiness felt intentional....the relationship web was intriguing somehow..every episode left me curious about what would happen next

THE BAD

The Writing

(the biggest flaw)

Terrible way of story progression...sometimes stretchy other times abrupt
A missing essence and superficial tones in writing emotionally deep side plots...(no impact whatsoever)
there wasnt a plot that I can point at , which held the show together throughout

which makes me think about the:

Missing emotional development

This became more noticeable as the show progressed.

Take Shasha and Gorya:

They're probably one of the most interesting pairings in the entire series, yet I never felt like the show properly explained why Gorya fell for Shasha beyond seeing moments of vulnerability...

The chemistry was there but the emotional progression wasn't.

The same applies to Min and Praew;

What exactly made Min start questioning her sexuality?

What made her fall for Praew?

What made Praew truly understand Min?

The relationship happened, but the emotional bridges connecting those moments often felt missing.

Ironically, MinPraew sometimes felt like side characters in their own story.

The crossover pairings

One of the most anticipated aspects of Girl Rules was the crossover dynamics.

Shasha and Bambi.

Prim and Gorya.

Even the tension between Gorya and Bambi.

People were genuinely excited because these interactions opened up so many interesting possibilities.

The problem is that most of them felt like they existed purely to maintain the show's "messy" image.

A lot of these scenes generated excitement in the moment but added very little to the overall story.

The messiness rarely led anywhere.

There were kisses, tension and shocking interactions, but very few lasting consequences or meaningful developments that justified them narratively.

Romance and love scenes

This might be controversial.

For a show that marketed itself as bold, mature and messy, many of the romantic scenes felt surprisingly underwhelming.

And no, I'm not talking about explicitness...

Many scenes felt abruptly cut off just when the chemistry was starting to build....

The tension would finally reach a point where viewers could fully appreciate the moment, and then the scene would end...

For a series that heavily promoted desire, attraction and complicated adult relationships, a lot of the romantic moments felt strangely incomplete.

Too many themes at once

The show tackled:

  • Mental health
  • Industry exploitation
  • Sexuality
  • Trauma
  • Family expectations
  • Toxic relationships
  • Self-discovery

All important topics.

The problem wasn't the topics themselves but it often felt like the series was introducing issues faster than it was exploring them..

Budget and production

For a show set in a glamorous industry, the glamour was surprisingly missing

At times the world felt smaller and more artificial than it should have...(I mean one dollar and a dream after all?)

Editing

I genuinely don't know what happened here.

The editing often felt abrupt, unfinished and awkward....

Transitions were rough, Certain episodes felt like they were held together by tape....

OST

Look.

The OST is catchy

But it's also the kind of song you don't particularly like and somehow still end up singing.

Prim's styling

I have a personal issue with whoever styled Prim

Some outfits were great

but some genuinely made me question the though behind them istg

Namtan deserved better.

Final Thoughts

The frustrating thing about gr is that I don't hate it.

In fact, I probably wanted this show to succeed more than most people.

That's why I'm so critical of it.

Because every ingredient was present.

But somewhere along the way, the show became so focused on being messy that it forgot to give that messiness purpose....becoming a mess

By the finale, felt less like a bad show and more like a lost one

(A lot of thoughts are going through my mind right now, and this was the best way I could put them into words. I hope it comes across the way I intended.)
and
HAPPY PRIDE!

Girl rules: wasted potential

Now that Girl Rules is coming to an end, I genuinely can’t believe how much potential this show had only for it to end up feeling so directionless. With a cast lineup this strong;
NamatanFilm and MilkLove who are already major names in the industry and with everyone from viewmim, emi, bonnie to ciize and kapook (almost everyone making an appearance) you’d expect a well-written, emotionally layered series with proper character arcs and pacing.
I never expected for this show to be so all over the place, its just sad atp
what could’ve been one of GMMTV’s strongest GL ensemble series ended up with a lack of decent plot, character inconsistencies and the budget too felt unusually tight.
The only thing saving the show is the popular pairings and those face cards😭
but I would love to see what you guys think…
