Posted a few weeks ago about a bench seat, finally got everything worked out. This is the kit from LMC, with new bottom and back foam. It's a real pain to get this together. I assume if you reuse foam it's a hell of a lot easier! Plus, the new foam is so much firmer...the steering wheel about hits the belt buckle now. hoping it breaks in soon
And yes, the daily is a bronco. square body on the weekends, sue me!
So, I recently decided to tackle upholstery and foam replacement on my '73. I ordered foam and upholstery kits from LMC for 1973, but turns out my bench seat is actually a '69-72, so I have the wrong parts. Anyone know what the 73-80 seat looks like underneath? I'm trying to buy one locally but so far, been really hard to figure out what year any of these are. The seat I've attached looks close but not quite right to me. Any pics are helpful if anyone has a 73-80 (I think they changed in '81) Thanks!
Looking to potentially join the ranks...there's an '86 F250 with the 5.0 near me for about 4k. It's pretty straight, has some rust showing through in the rear wheel wells but the cab corners are solid. A little bit in the floor under driver's side (not rusted out though). Guy says it's at around 125k miles but he has only owned it for a short period of time, and bought another project he'd rather work on (thus selling this one).
Any advice from the veterans of these trucks? I have no idea if $4k is overpaying or if that's how much an example like this costs. Any tips appreciated, thanks!
