I’ve been dealing with tiny black ants in my apartment kitchen for the last couple weeks and I’m honestly losing my mind a little.

At first it was just a few near the sink, but now they keep showing up from different spots around the baseboards even after using Terro bait traps. The weird part is the bait seems to work temporarily, then a few days later they suddenly come back again somewhere else.

I cleaned everything, wiped down trails, sealed a couple small gaps, and they still keep cycling back. I’m starting to wonder if this is more of a wall void/building issue instead of just random scout ants.

For people who’ve dealt with recurring sugar ants infestations, what actually solved it long term? Did DIY eventually work or did it end up needing something deeper like sugar ants AMPM exterminators or similar professional treatment?

At this point I’m mostly trying to understand whether I’m missing a root cause somewhere.
