Do Lagottos have different temperaments depending on the country they come from?

Hi everyone!

I was wondering if you've noticed differences in Lagotto temperaments (sociability, sensitivity, drive, or working instincts) depending on the country they come from.

I know every dog is an individual, but I'm curious whether there are any trends.

I'm from France, where I live in a ski resort in the Alps. My Lagotto is only 4 months old, so his personality is still developing, but so far he's a little stubborn, very affectionate, extremely sociable, and incredibly curious.

Where are you and your Lagotto from, and how would you describe their personality?

Looking forward to hearing your experiences!

Puppy bitten in the face by another dog - small blood spot in eye and blinking more

Hi,

My 16-week-old male Lagotto Romagnolo was bitten in the face by another dog a few hours ago.

He screamed and ran back to me, but there was no obvious injury at first. Since then, he has eaten normally, played with two dogs he knows well, and is acting mostly like himself.

However, while checking him more carefully, I noticed:

A small blood spot on the white part of one eye (upper area of the sclera)

He seems uncomfortable when that area is touched

He is blinking that eye slightly more than usual

He is blinking that eye slightly more than usual

There is also a tiny brown spot in the lower part of the iris that I hadn't noticed before

The eye is still open, not swollen, and there is no obvious discharge. He does not seem lethargic and is behaving normally otherwise.

Unfortunately, it's the weekend and I may not be able to see my regular vet until Monday.

Does this sound like something that requires an emergency vet visit, or could it safely wait until tomorrow/Monday if it doesn't worsen?

Thank you.

I’ve almost made my decision: I’m going to adopt a puppy. The only thing still holding me back is that I don’t live with my partner, by choice. I’m wondering whether it would be okay for the puppy if I stayed at my partner’s place several nights a week with the dog, without disrupting or unsettling him.

For context, we live on the same street, and my partner has a very well-trained 9-year-old dog.

Thanks for all the answers !
