Help with compositionally interesting tail pose for fishboy 🐟🐟🐟

Helloooo!! I really can’t figure out what to do with my OC’s tail in this piece?? I’ve attached a second picture showing what his tail looks like, but i’d really like to do something compositionally interesting with it in this piece and cant decide what. I’d appreciate a redline!

Hello!! Have gotten a lot further in this piece since i last posted but i am genuinely just wracking my brains trying to figure out why her face looks so damn wrong!!! I think it’s something to do with the eye shape but i literally can’t put my finger on what’s making it look so uncanny. Can i get a liquify edit?

I want her to look a little startled, but not pushed TOO far, she should still look relatively composed.

I tried to attach as many photos of my process as possible, and the reference i’m working with!

I’ve been working on my back poses, even though i struggle tremendously with these. I didn’t do any tracing and tried to more or less put the pose together by eye. I think it’s close, but looks a tiny bit off? Can i get some feedback? :0

Sorry for the messy sketch… i think with a little tweaking it’ll get there. Can i get some written feedback, or a redline or two? :)

I want her to give sort of… a cold air of superiority, with simultaneously quite a ‘lifeless’ look to her face. i’m struggling to find the balance between the two without pushing it too far and making her look overly smug or not taking it far enough and having her expression look a little boring 😭😭

i feel like, if anything, she looks a bit fearful rn?? not what im going for at all
