I’m one year into my job and I’m so burnt out.

I have a patient on my schedule every 20 minutes, even if their actual exam is longer than 20 minutes. I only get a lunch break around half of the time because we’re pretty much always behind. I’m forced to see people who show up 10-15 minutes after their appointment time and it sets my whole day back.

Our schedulers will add on same-day patients <60 minutes before they’re supposed to be seen. So they obviously show up late and have no paperwork completed.

I don’t know how experienced techs do years of this. One of my favorite parts of my job is the patient interaction, but I feel like I can’t even put on a happy face for my patients because I’m so burnt out.

What private loans are yall using to pay for med school? Are there any things I should look for / avoid?

I got a pretty good quote from Sallie Mae (about 4% interest rate) but I’m nervous that I’m missing something hidden in the fine print.

Thanks in advance I hate that we even have to do this
