Request for Proposals: Go 10.3 4.0.1 vs 4.2 Tests
Do you want to see any comparisons done between FW 4.0.1 and the latest? Please suggest tests below.
My current Go 10.3 is on firmware 4.0.1. I've bought a second Boox Go 10.3 for testing purposes as I'm unwilling to update my personal device without knowing that it won't interfere with my workflow.
I don't know what FW version the new device will have. If it has any firmware other than 4.0.1 or the latest, I will also perform tests based on that version before updating. Once it's updated to the latest I will perform the main tests.
I have owned a Go 10.3 since December 2024. It shipped with FW 3.5, maybe 3.5.3 or 3.5.4. No issues. I eventually updated to FW 4.0 and then 4.0.1. I have enabled a number of customizations, most notably rooting the device and installing OnyxTweaks to enable some features like being able to change the eink mode for notes and neoreader. I generally use einkbro, the default notes app, neoreader, and the Zotero app. I have used it daily or almost daily the whole time, using it for school and work as well as reading. It has replaced paper for me. I did get the MyDailyOrganizer PDF calendar. It's nice but I usually just use notes.
All this to say that I think I get decent use out of it, so I'm willing to try whatever features people want to see in addition to my own testing.
