analog shadow clock

right now, its mil secs, secs and minutes I'm hoping I can get it to do in game time 24 minute days, but I doubt it will just line up perfectly using servo controllers, but I'm about to find out

u/Glum-Distribution228 — 14 hours ago

Your best guesses on the coming changes that haven't been shown yet good or bad. for example im wondering if servo controllers will finally require power in survival which i think would be a good thing for balancing the game play, no more free energy

That could even be taken a step farther which i personally doubt by making everything logic related need a power source no matter how little energy it reguires, also another change im not expecting would be fixing suspension glitches, im pretty sure unless they leave them as a legacy part that would upset a lot of people by breaking there creations, but there are quite a few small things people have hoped for that haven't been hinted at in the trailer clip, a working alarm clock would be a big one for me, or being able to paint directly on the ground and have sensors able to detect it

Im going to say it, chapter 2 actually tomorrow

And here's why, there is no way they haven't seen the chapter tomorrow 2 meme thats spread thoroughly through this reddit, by just posting single word update tomorrow instead of there usual style which is normally several words like im sorrry not this year, they are acknowledging the chapter 2 tomorrow meme thats developed, which means they are dropping it for sure, likely absolutely for sure, a set your alarm clocks level sureness, unless there assholes and are going to use a meme built around there delays against us but i feel like sunce there only communication was a single word tomorrow im going to personally hold it against them if thats not chapter 2 and just a trailer or finally a date, but yes a date will be something but they have had dates before so thats why i think this is actually going to be it

tandem jets

inspired by u/drycupcake6417 post, wanted to try flying tandem jets but its ridiculously hard, maybe with separate control schemes for making small corrections when they start drifting apart but even without any extra controls just trying to steer one extra is soo hard it's kind of like trying to focus on 2 things at once, I didn't think of it at the time but it would have probably looked cool if I set the other jet up to have reverses steering

first 125 color pixel using all 4 shades of red, green and blue

still trying to figure out how to actually use it other than like this video where I just cycle through each combination, what I wanted it to do is to transition between colors instead of going from maximum to minimums which makes the pixel look like it jumps between colors, im using a seperate 1 to 5 counter for each color 1 being off then 4 shades of each color

vanilla rgb display idea, it's using red, green and blue lights to make the different colors and just projecting the light on the surface for the pixels

not sure if it's possible to make the lights and blocks their attached to invisible or if that will make them stop producing light but if so, I could shrink the pixel size down, right now its huge each pixel is 5x5 to keep the lights from blocking to much of the screen

finished all the characters I could think of and working on the permanent memory, still up in the air on this one, it holds 576 bits which means with my set up 96 characters but I was really hoping to be able to read and write from the head and with this design I need a separate way to read the data

if I use this design it's going to be slow as hell about 1 character a second for reads and writes when my last set up could both read and write at about 6 characters a second, also my original one handles up to 9 bits but I only ended up using 50 of the 64 for the characters so ill probibly bring it down to 6 which still leaves room for 14 more characters I can add incase I missed any important ones, and of course writing this I realized I forgot the! and a few more lol... i forgot to fast forward on the memory test, its about 1:30 if you want to skip it

my solution for creating permeant memory so far, not sure how it came to this but now I'm learning about binary, I was just trying to come up with the most compact way of storing date and apparently binary's the way to go how would have guessed:)

never messed with binary before other than a few failed attempts and halfway through making the permanent memory module it just kind of clicked and I realized I was basically using it already, now it's so much easier after I googled a cheat sheet and then made a diagram in front to follow, still going to be tedious as hell to finish I'm only at the number 4 so far and I'll still need to add the rest of the numbers plus the alphabet and symbols but its working way better than I expected, but it still won't work as any type of large memory storage system until I can come up with something more like a drive with a reliable way to move the pumps around to read and write data in deferent locations, otherwise it would be massive if every digit or character needed its own pumps chest and guns to read and write

hopefully the start of my display for my next project, as is it handles counting up and down from 0 to 9 while rolling over, muiltple can be chained together to make larger numbers has a clear function and you cant input any number, next will be adding letters and symbols

This is my best counter yet, It counts up or down from 0 to 9 and can be chained together to make larger values also has a toggle switch to prevent it from rolling back over if you want to a single digit, unlike the one I made for my calculator this one has a clear function and lets you directly assign a value without it needing to count my last one was also one tick slower at 4 ticks, it was only after I had condensed all the logic into a single block that I realized being able to just clear it would be very handy let alone inputting numbers directly lol, on my last calculator it had to add your input by counting

Question for the og's here, whats a good way to make permanent memory, im making something and want to remember your choices when saved on a lift, my original plan was to use pumps cardboad sensors and guns to effectively write permanent memory. Then i read that it can be done with with only logic

Any advice would be cool, it was ai that said an xor gate with 2 and gates can be saved on a lift without resetting the memory bit so not sure if its real but ill test that when i have a chance, what im planning on making a universal display with touchscreen keyboard of sorts operated with a spudgun for input, im building a muilti display of sorts, i plan on it having different functions from a timer to a calculator and anything in between that i can think of including a menu system, that's where the permanent memory will help, using the keyboard i want to be able to program each part of the menu, for example at the first screen ill input main menu then it will ask how many submenus you want then you'll input each title like difficulty for example, the hard and tedious part will be converting tpur i formation to cardboard as a form of memory so ill be stuck witha read and write system like some old as conputer using floppy disks when all the informationbis already ghere in the logic states, if i can get logic state saves working for the menu then you would just delete everything but the display once you finish and save your custom menu on the lift to lock it in, i built something similar to this, the brain for my airship it has a menu system that lets you adjust nearly every aspect of the ships operation but it took years to finish mainly because it sucked so bad making the letters for the menu so i kept giving up

Food for thought with a side of hopeium, with how many years we have been waiting for chapter 2 combined with axolots near complete radio silence for about half of it and the fact they've mention they dont want to give away spoilers muiltiple times

Im hopium that its a fully fleshed out AAA game not just what we've seen in devblogs, could you imagine if what we've seen in the devblogs is just a tiny portion of the content they've been working on, what would the game would look like if they really have been continuously working on it for a decade, obviously im not counting on it, at this point id even be happy with pretty much anything even just new outfits or blocks

umm what, how have I never noticed this, suspension glitch without bearings acts like a single axis 1 way stabilizer?

Obviously, I've known about stabilizer glitches for years and that you need at least one bearing to control them, but I've messed around with them a lot and never noticed this specific effect. It must be related to its placement direction in relation to the center of gravity of the creation as far as i can guess so far. I could see this being useful on cars set up for speed, you can have it set to dampen it when accelerating to slow down wheelies but let it fall down like normal when you let off the gas

Racetrack so far, mostly I've been focusing on the twisty and disorienting stuff. I still need to make and add more track parts with jumps and the like to fill the level out a little more

but it's coming along, I also need to work on the car some more as well as building a spot at the start of the course for making your own vehicle. here's the workshop link if anyone wants to try it so far https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3748696590

What do you think about the start of my race track

And yes i know screen shots are much better but I'm watching my brother's dogs at his house and his computer sucks also his drive is full, i think im going to leave the double helix thing as the start or the course and remove the 2nd spiral and replace it with a a series of small 90 degree rotating jumps so it will be hard to tell what way is up by the end, my plan for this track is to be all about unorthodox orientations taking advantage of geforce to make steering possible

vanilla nock-off hover craft, i thought was pretty cool

can anyone guess how it works, its vanilla with no glitch welding or anything like that

I built a new stunt car to see how my newest control setup from my flying brick stacked up to my last stunt vehicle's controls and also tested a new suspension setup that works if a little weird
