Little white bugs? copepods? in my jellyfish tank

I‘ve had my jellyfish for close to 2 months. My tank is fully cycled. Today I noticed there are a bunch of little white things crawling around the suction cup of my thermometer. Google said they are likely copepods, but I wanted to make sure/figure out what to do. i feed them dry food from JellyfishArt (I know it’s not great, but I live in a dorm and that’s what I have) and use Stability and JellyBio Maintain when I do water changes. I saw that copepods can be a good source of food for jellyfish, so if that’s what they are, should I just leave it? And if I need to get them out of there, how do I clean the tank so they don’t come back? Any advice is appreciated. Thank you in advance.

I got some moon jellyfish a few weeks ago, and despite trying my best, it isn't going very well. I thought that the skip-the-cycle sponge that came with my jellyfish would, well, skip the cycle. I realize now that there are no replacements for fully cycling a tank BEFORE getting jellyfish. However, I can't undo that mistake now. I've been trying to cycle my tank for about a week now, but my nitrates keep spiking dangerously high. About 3-4 days, ago, it was so bad that I did like a 95% water change (I pretty much put them in their original bag and re-acclimated them like I did when I got them). After that, they're behavior was starting to look a lot better. However, I have fed them twice and the nitrate levels are at like .75 ppm. I do suck the food out of the bottom of the tank, and I don't know what else to do. I live in a college dorm and don't have a car, so while I'm waiting on my shipment of salt and distilled water that should come today I have them in a bowl with me. I am slowly adding the little saltwater I do have to that bowl, which should end up at about 75-80% new water. I have also been using the pipette to create a flow to keep them suspended. I care about them so much and feel like I'm doing everything I can and still failing.

If anyone could give me some step-by-step advice of what to do, that would be great. I have JellyBio Starter, JellyBio Maintain, TurboFritz 900, Seachem Stability, and their food is the dried stuff from JellyfishArt. I also have a shipment coming in today with more salt and water, as well as an ammonia badge and Seachem Prime. I am willing to do anything to keep them alive and happy, I just need help.
