The doctor laughed me out of the office
For 8 years, I have gotten very painful ingrowns in my groin area- only in areas where my underwear sits/ causes friction.
It starts with a hard painful lump that gets inflamed, will pus- and if I pick it or try get the hair out…transform into this insane blood boil. Once it finally goes away, I am left with this thin skinned crater hole scar- and you can literally still see the hairs growing underneath. I’ve learnt to leave them alone unless a hair is actually poking out.
I have gone to the doctors countless times over the years, tried a range of topical creams, antibiotics, or acne medication with no relief. Eventually I was told the only option was laser hair removal- which I have been getting for almost two years.
Despite my hair thinning significantly, It has not worked and I am still constantly getting them, one will come for months, leave, and a week later another starts. I went back to the doctor and asked for a referral to the dermatologist, I literally got laughed away and told it wasn’t bad enough for a referral. I continued pushing and she flat out refused.
I currently have had an inch long (seriously) painful hard cyst in my groin for 4-5 weeks. I can see pus under the skin and I have been trying to treat it with antiseptic for 2 weeks when it came to a head. But it hasn’t gone down.
Does anyone have any advice at all in getting this treated/ products I can use to calm it? Even diet or routine advice? I’m weary to pay another $70 fee to be laughed at again. Having dealt with this for many years I feel pretty defeated and I just want it to F OFF!!!!
