I've been on DES for > 10 years (yes, the requirements to get DSP are far too stringent - imo I should be on disability. I can't do any of the jobs I'm applying for. Being seen as a 'job seeker' is just cruel). I have extreme difficulties getting around, and have this noted from my ESAT. I've had every single appointment for that entire time on DES over the phone (I would usually have to complain to the department and fight very hard to get those phone appointments). IEA is so far much worse than DES. I'm only just starting as I had to get another ESAT. They are insisting my first appointment be face to face because they are now legally required to verify my ID. So... how are they supposed to be accommodating of my health conditions while also forcing me to go in to verify my ID? You cannot achieve both outcomes, which puts us in a deadlock. One suggestion was to email a copy of my drivers license to them or show my ID over video.. which sounds so incredibly unsafe and not something I'm going to do.
Why are they now required to verify my ID? How on earth would I get on their books if I hadn't at some point verified my ID to Centrelink? Any ideas on how I can navigate this problem?
FYI I've had > 300 appointments. I've received nothing from them except prejudice, emotional abuse and bullying.
