Anyone have any idea what the deal is with this latest vine purge?

I’ve seen like 15 posts on Reddit this morning where people are saying they’ve been kicked, and a bunch of people in the comments too. A majority are claiming that their accounts were in good standing.

Cutting down on the over abundance of accounts perhaps? Sellers bulk reporting reviews? Low effort reviews? It’s anyone’s guess I suppose.

My account is in good standing, but I guess I’ll be biting my nails the next few days 🥶

Good luck all! Hopefully I’ll see you on the flippity flop.

Edit: Here’s a good example of another post that just came in: https://www.reddit.com/r/AmazonVine/s/lUVNx8OJXS

Edit 2: Posts and comments with people being kicked are continuing to roll in. We really are in the midst of a vine purge.

My Spur Of The Moment Approach To Reviewing A 500 Bulk Pack Of Bic Mechanical Pencils

I did something a bit different today and started writing and drawing actual “tests” in real time on paper for these BIC mechanical pencils I ordered. It was a spur of the moment thing that literally just willed its way into existence, from the categories, to the charts, to the scores.

I’d be curious to hear your thoughts on this, as well as whether or not you find this sort of thing helpful. I’d also be open to any ideas on how I can implement visual representations with different products going forward, if that’s even possible lol.

I have included the photo of my “tests” as well as my written review.

Cheers!

The Pencil You Know At A Great Bulk Value

I always find myself searching for a writing implement, so I ordered this bulk pack of BIC mechanical pencils so that I would never have to search again. The pencils operate very similarly to the mechanical pencils many of us grew up with, just with some more modern updates. These pencils use a 0.7 mm number 2 graphite, meaning they are compatible with most tests. Correct me if I’m wrong, but I do believe that this was not the case with mechanical pencils from my youth. So this is certainly a welcome update.

Included in this bulk set are a total of 500 mechanical pencils. I will admit I have not personally counted them, but the quantity I received looks close enough for me. The pencils come in a variety of colors, consisting of purple, green, orange, red, and blue, with clips of varying colors.

The pencils feel well constructed and are comfortable to both hold and write with. The design of the pencil body allows for a confident grip. The pencils each measure around 5.75” in total length, and each pencil contains three pieces of graphite which each individually measure 3.5” in length. In other words, these pencils pack a punch, and each holds enough graphite to write for quite a while. And while not disassemblable, the pencils can still be manually refilled with graphite just like their older counterparts.

Operation of the pencil is super simple. Simply depress the eraser portion of the pencil to advance the graphite, and you are ready to write. The pencils write very smoothly overall. The graphite glides easily across the paper, and the dark graphite creates easily legible text with a subtle sheen. The built in erasers also work surprisingly well, making it a breeze to fix any mistakes.

My only gripes with these pencils pertain to the false anti shatter claims and the tendency of the graphite to smudge under pressure. The graphite is delicate and can be broken easily if you press too hard. I have included along with my review an actual written demonstration of these pencils in action if you would care to take a look. This way, you can actually get an idea of how they perform for yourself. In all of my testing, I only used about 0.5” of the total 3.5” length of a single piece of graphite. Keep in mind, this also included some intentional breaks. So, I have no doubt each pencil will last for quite a while.

A couple minor gripes aside, I am pleased with these mechanical pencils overall. They write nicely, work well, and are convenient to have on hand. In my written demonstration, I settled on an overall score of 7.5/10, and I think that is fair given how well they write. Not to mention, this bulk set can be useful in a variety of settings or applications, such as for school, college, teachers, or, as in my case, for personal use. Perhaps I will give a few to friends and family, but most likely not (haha). One thing is for certain, I will never have to search for a writing implement ever again. In closing, I believe this is a good product and a great bulk value for the price, and it is for this reason that I would recommend these mechanical pencils from BIC.

So, I just finished writing several Amazon Vine reviews back to back in the Notes app on my iPhone. When I went to retrieve them to copy and paste into Vine, they were gone. Every single one, just gone… except for the first sentence of each review. How nice?

Apparently my storage was nearly full, so the notes app spazzed out and my reviews just never saved properly after closing the app for a brief moment. No warning, no nothing. All of my work wiped out just like that. Keep in mind, These were not your vine special three sentence reviews, they actually had girth.

I think I’m done trusting IOS Notes for this. After losing one review on Amazon itself years back, I switched to notes so I always had a copy. But, I think I’ll just take my chances typing directly into the Amazon review field next time, and screenshot (or take pictures, lord knows I can’t trust screenshots to save to my phone) as I go. I’ve genuinely lost more reviews in my iOS Notes app than I ever have on Amazon itself. Just Unreal. Gripe over.

I recently went through the worst hemorrhoid flare of my life and wanted to document the entire experience in case it helps someone else going through it.

This lasted about two weeks and it was not a mild case. I have a history of hemorrhoids and fissures in this same area, but nothing comes close to how intense this was. After a hard bowel movement, I developed a large external hemorrhoid that increasingly became extremely swollen, rock hard, and very painful. For the next two weeks, it was non stop torture. At its peak it felt like a golf ball sized lump with intense pressure. Sitting was nearly impossible and even small movements could trigger major pain spikes. Based on how hard and painful it got, this may have been a thrombosed hemorrhoid or at least partially thrombosed at times.

Early stage:

It started as a typical hemorrhoid with some discomfort and mild swelling. Then after a harder bowel movement everything escalated quickly. The lump became very firm and painful, and I started getting that constant “full” pressure feeling.

Peak phase:

This was the worst part by far. I had one episode where a slight shift in my chair triggered an unbearable pain and swelling spike that lasted around 14 hours. This was not normal pain. It felt like extreme pressure, throbbing, and burning all at once and it would not let up no matter what position I tried. It honestly felt like something was seriously wrong internally. I genuinely thought I might need emergency treatment and at one point I thought I was going to die from how intense and unrelenting it felt.

During that same period I also had fluid leakage that smelled like stool which made me think it might be infected or something worse. I also had it again during my next hard bowel movement. At this stage I was thinking abscess. I had no fever though so I decided to ride it out for a day to see if things improved.

At this stage I had:
Severe swelling and hardness
Constant pressure and deep, spread out pain and throbbing
Pain with sitting and movement
Occasional bleeding (bright red and dark red)
Some mucus or brown fluid discharge
Extreme anxiety about bowel movements

Bowel movements during this phase were the biggest problem. Hard stool would re irritate everything and it felt like I was stuck in a loop where every BM reset the progress. It was mentally draining to say the least.

Later phase:

After several days, the pain started to fluctuate. I would have periods where it felt better at rest but then flare again after a bowel movement. The lump would change in size and firmness which was confusing and stressful. Small actions and movements still caused sharp pain.

I focused on:
Oatmeal, pears, apples for fiber
Trying stool softeners
Drinking more fluids
Avoiding straining as much as possible

Even with that, I still had some hard stools and small pieces which kept causing irritation. This was the most frustrating stage because it felt like nothing was working consistently.

Turning point:

The biggest change came when I finally gave the area a real break. I spent about 36 hours mostly reclined and off my feet. That reduced pressure on the area a lot.

During that time:
Pain at rest dropped significantly
The swelling started to go down
The lump went from large and tight to much smaller

This was huge. It felt like the first real progress.

Recovery phase:

After that, I finally had a softer bowel movement. It was still a bit difficult due to tightness, but it did not cause a massive flare like before. That was the moment I knew things were turning around.

At this stage:
The large lump was mostly gone
There was still a skin tag left
Pain changed from deep pressure to surface stinging and itching
The area felt tight but manageable
Sitting started to become possible again

Current state:

Now I mostly have:
Mild irritation after bowel movements
Some tightness at the opening
A small skin tag
Occasional itching or stinging

But nothing like the earlier stages. The constant pain and pressure are gone.

What helped the most:

Not straining even when it was tempting
Waiting for a real urge before trying to go
Softening stool through diet and consistency
Getting off the area and reclining to reduce pressure
Not sitting on the toilet too long trying to force things
Accepting that improvement is not linear

Biggest lessons:

Pain improves before swelling fully goes away
Swelling can fluctuate a lot and still be healing
Gas can feel like a bowel movement urge but is not
Forcing bowel movements is what keeps the cycle going
Giving the area extended time without pressure made a was the key difference maker

If you are in the middle of this, especially the peak phase, it can feel like something is seriously wrong. The pain and pressure can be intense enough to mess with your head. But if your symptoms are fluctuating and tied to bowel movements, it is very possible to come out of it without needing anything invasive.

My best advice: take pressure off the area and don’t move. Recline, lay on your side, do whatever you have to do. It will eventually resolve.

This was brutal and I sympathize with anyone going through it. Hopefully this helps someone else feel less alone in it.

So we’ve desperately been in need of a new loveseat for some time. This popped up in my RFY without a picture available. The loveseat option in white was the only available choice at checkout. So, thinking it would be like those other modular sofas, I ordered it quickly before it disappeared.

Upon further inspection, this is what they call a cloud couch. It’s basically like a mattress in a box, but in sofa form. I ordered it at a reduced etv of $281.60, and it retails for $399.99. So that is a bit of weight off my chest if it doesn’t quite work out for us.

The reason for this post is that I would love to hear if anyone knows or has any experience with these so called “cloud couches”. They appear to be all memory foam with no internal structure or support. I just can’t see it holding up to body weight very well.

If anyone can shed some light, I’d love to know how these are expected to hold up over time. In all honesty, It seems almost more like a bed than a couch with the short back supports and low height in general.

I’m excited about the find but nervous that it might not be quite ideal for our living situation. We’re not small people lol. Thanks for reading and if anyone can shed any light, I’m all ears!

I had this dream recently and it was way too vivid not to write down. I’ve never actually been through a tornado in real life, but this one felt completely real both while it was happening, and after I woke up. Just sharing it while it’s still fresh in my head.
__________________________________________

In my dream, I had apparently just returned to work at a previous job as a manager at an auto parts store. I was talking with the store manager in the back by the store safe and computer, which is essentially the office area. The space is small and dimly lit with a constant hum of the store in the background. I remember that I started complaining about some of the computer software for the daily safe reconciliation for some reason. Eventually I leave the back room and notice there are items on the front counter to be returned to shelves. These were basically just normal items left by customers throughout the day. So I took some of these items to return to the sales floor where they belong.

Another manager says, “Yeah homie, stock those shelves,” and I snap back telling him they don’t tell me what to do. I’m normally not an argumentative person in real life. An argument ensues between us and the store manager intervenes. I explain the situation and she takes my side.

So, I eventually mosey on over to the back corner of the store where I see a fellow coworker for what must have been the first time in about a month or so. We talk about theirs and my vacation and catch up as normal.

After that, the other manager whom I had an altercation with earlier walks towards me and mutters something while I’m fixing and arranging air filters on the shelf. I tell him I’d beat the shit out of him and to get the fuck lost. Again, not something I would ever do in real life.

Next, I find myself cleaning the antifreeze/oil feature wall when I find some change tucked behind bottles and grime, and I collect the miscellaneous coins and start on my way to put them in the collective jar towards lunch.

Just then, I look out the glass front doors and see a very dark tornado has touched down and is coming towards us. It is tall, narrow, and violently swirling, with a thick rotating top and a heavy debris field at the bottom kicking up dust and slinging objects across the parking lot. The sky has that dark green gray storm color and everything outside looks wrong.

This is the first time I’ve ever seen or experienced a tornado, and it immediately felt as real as real can get.

I yell for everyone, “tornado,” and tell them to take cover. They all run towards the back room. As I’m peering out the front glass doors, the tornado is coming closer fast and getting larger and louder through the glass. I run and take shelter between the tall partitions that serve as the short walkway between the front counter and back room where all the parts are. I felt as though it was the only solid point in the cookie cutter building where I was least likely to be hit with debris.

I immediately notice that some other workers are getting hit with flying debris as the pallet racking stocked full of heavy parts begins to tip and creak under the force of the tornado. At that very moment, popping and cracking sounds overhead cause me to look up at the ceiling just as the fluorescent light tubes start to burst and fall. It was all so vivid and real. My survival instincts kick in and as I begin to cover my head, I can literally feel the stabbing pain of the glass shards from the light tubes being driven into both my arms. The whole building is shaking, the lights are flickering, and glass windows are breaking. Alternators and brake calipers are flying off shelves and slamming to the floor. I suddenly hear the store manager scream like she has been hit with something. I hug the tall red partition as hard as I possibly can and just try to ride out the effects of the tornado. The entire time, I can both hear and feel the tornado roaring like a freight train that’s right on top of us.

After about 2 to 3 minutes of peak intensity, things finally begin to settle. The noise fades from a full roar to distant wind. I eventually gain the courage to make my way over to what’s left of the front door. To my surprise I see the tornado trailing off in the distance and my car is still sitting there somehow untouched in the lot.

I immediately have the urge to call my mother, who I think is at home, to warn her about the incoming tornado. I can hear voices from the office radio projecting its path. Then I remember that she is thankfully out of town.

At this point I check on everyone in the store and realize that everyone is banged up but okay. Eventually, myself and a few others walk to the gas station next door to check on people, carefully stepping over broken glass, debris, and twisted metal outside.

Just then, the sky begins suddenly to darken again and we realize the tornado is coming back. There is no hesitation this time. We all duck into the gas station as quickly as possible.

It hits again almost immediately; thicker, darker, and louder than before. All hell breaks loose inside the small convenience store as I desperately scramble to try to find adequate cover, but there really isn’t any. The roof is partially torn off in an instant, with insulation and debris ripping through gaps. People are flung around inside, and every window has dangerous projectiles coming through. Merchandise is being flung around every which way. As I was crawling on the floor, I watched a woman’s head get struck and essentially impaled by a metal fence post. It was horrific.

I just remember frantically running from place to place, desperately trying to find adequate cover. I eventually duck near the ice cream cooler and press down as low to the floor as I can. I could literally feel the warm air from the compressor on my face. Eventually, everything just stops. The sound, screams, and intensity were all so real. In addition to the fluorescent light tube shards embedded in my bleeding arms, I now have big lacerations in my left leg, ankle, and back. My clothes are torn and soaked.

A couple minutes pass as we regroup and begin to check on each other. That’s when we hear it coming back again. It touches down on us immediately and this time is very much like the last: debris everywhere, people being killed left and right, and I am just clinging onto a t-shirt rack trying to keep my head down and angled away from the window glass.

The tornado trails off and circles back one final time, taking the entire building with it. Everything goes black. I wake up to explosions and helicopters, and immediately pass back out.

I find myself in a new life, watching my upbringing from the third person as a different person from baby to toddler to young child, with new parents in an unfamiliar house. Everything feels detached from what I know. I suddenly have the overwhelming desire to get back to my own life.

I wake again to find myself driving home, back to being me. I have severe head trauma and lingering injuries from the tornadoes, leg lacerations, a deep back gash, arms bleeding with embedded fluorescent light tubing.

I make it home and find my mother there, and we hug for what feels like an eternity. I tell her about everything that happened and everything I had to endure with the tornadoes. A storm warning airs on the TV and the sky outside our house begins to darken again. The rain and wind start to pick up.

I’ve never experienced a tornado in real life, but after this dream I genuinely feel like I have. I went through multiple tornadoes back to back, and each one more intense than the last. Everything felt completely real the entire time, right down to the pain. I’m genuinely curious if anyone else has had a tornado dream that convincing or intense. Also, feel free to share your tornado stories down below. I used to always make my dad repeat his tornado experience to me as a kid. I love a good tornado story.

Thanks for reading! Stay safe out there!

This is the result I got using Chat GPT. It was literally the first image it spit out.

Below is the prompt I used:

Make me an image of what you think the average male Amazon vine reviewer writing a product review looks like full environmental details including surrounding, setting, and product they are testing/reviewing

Share your images in the comments if you’d like 😂

I was actually blown away by the accuracy. It included all the classic vine staples. Plus, It was nice of it to include the cute doggo haha. Also, how about those wall signs?!?!

As a few others have pointed out, the level of detail sometimes is astounding. You can even see the packing inlay for the massage gun, with appropriate cut outs. Pretty soon we won’t be able to tell what’s real and what’s AI.
