Amazon's crackdown of fake reviews and batch uploading of reviews
SalesDuo is a legitimate ad agency (4.7 stars on TrustPilot) that specializes in positioning businesses on Amazon. On April 21, 2026 a blog article was posted about Amazon's crackdown on fake reviews. The section "How Amazon Detects Fake Reviews (AI + Human Intelligence)" is particularly interesting, especially where it describes review timing and sudden spikes in activity as being a key signal they analyze to determine the likelihood of reviews being fake. In other words, if there is no activity and then a sudden flurry of reviews being posted, it would be noted by the detection system.
I find the timing of this article interesting, especially in relation to what appears to be a sudden flurry of bans. At least one banned Viner was batching their reviews for a single upload session and quite a few Viners follow this practice. Although all we have is speculation (and not all banned Viners may have been caught up in this particular key signal) I consider this post a reliable source of information that could be insinuating that those who batch upload reviews might want to watch their timing.
This is actually a good read with other details that could be of interest to Viners; https://salesduo.com/blog/amazon-crackdown-fake-reviews/
