Amazon's crackdown of fake reviews and batch uploading of reviews

Amazon's crackdown of fake reviews and batch uploading of reviews

SalesDuo is a legitimate ad agency (4.7 stars on TrustPilot) that specializes in positioning businesses on Amazon. On April 21, 2026 a blog article was posted about Amazon's crackdown on fake reviews. The section "How Amazon Detects Fake Reviews (AI + Human Intelligence)" is particularly interesting, especially where it describes review timing and sudden spikes in activity as being a key signal they analyze to determine the likelihood of reviews being fake. In other words, if there is no activity and then a sudden flurry of reviews being posted, it would be noted by the detection system.

I find the timing of this article interesting, especially in relation to what appears to be a sudden flurry of bans. At least one banned Viner was batching their reviews for a single upload session and quite a few Viners follow this practice. Although all we have is speculation (and not all banned Viners may have been caught up in this particular key signal) I consider this post a reliable source of information that could be insinuating that those who batch upload reviews might want to watch their timing.

This is actually a good read with other details that could be of interest to Viners; https://salesduo.com/blog/amazon-crackdown-fake-reviews/

Why is the ETV higher than the coupon price?

This has happened to me a few times. Today I almost bought a $59 electric kettle in my RFY, until I checked the regular listing and saw that it has a $17 coupon, so the price to buy it would be $48. Yet the ETV is $59. How does this make sense?

I'm literally in tears

What is going on?!?? I do my best for reviews. I never use AI. I am just at a loss for words. I'm disabled and this is one of the few things that I was able to do and I enjoyed it. I have been having issues with my reviews being rejected lately. I even resorted to removing photos and putting the " this works as it should" type of review. Still rejected. I just.... My feelings are so hurt right now. 😭

My last day as gold. Here's hoping for a gaming laptop, OLED monitor, or 3D printer! Oh... Ok...

What is the best cat toy you got from vine?

My two cats lost interest in the many wand toys I have.
I am looking for inspiration for new toys.
I am considering the thing in the pic, as they love toys hidden and their cat tunnel (same material).
Any recommendations? Stuff to stay away from?

I’ve been catfished

What I ordered vs what I got. There is no drop down menu so I didn’t accidentally order the wrong thing.

My Reviews Have Disappeared, Vine Purge, & Technical Difficulties

Tonight, upon going to check my reviews under my profile, none are showing up. I’m talking about the profile screen you navigate to by clicking ‘your content’. My entire review history will not load. They have all just seemingly disappeared (for now).

It’s worth noting, my reviews are still showing as approved under my vine review history, and I can still view my individual reviews from there. They’ve just disappeared under my profile.

This is different from some of those who were removed during the seemingly ongoing vine purge, where their entire review history was removed and left in a a not approved state with community violations cited as a reason.

A few Others in the discord have also reported not seeing their review history showing up under their profile this evening. So, either this is an Amazon technical difficulty, they are revamping something, or some more of us are about to be kicked from the program. Who knows🤷‍♂️

If you are a stand up vine member like myself, (e.g. you submit quality reviews in a timely manner without over ordering to the point where pages of reviews pile up) then I wish you luck throughout this ongoing vine purge.

Edit: a user in the discord noted that they checked the profiles of many non-Viners, and that their reviews aren’t showing up under their profiles either. This appears to be a sitewide issue.

As another member said, this is pretty bad timing for an issue like this with the ongoing purge and all. Many users are going to be thinking they’re about to get the boot. That was honestly my first thought too, so I was relieved to see that my reviews were still showing as approved under the reviewed page.

AI must be stopped

A human artist would have found a better way to depict sweat or would have left it out entirely.

How can I return an item that I never received?

I was going over my "Returns & Orders" page on the regular Amazon website (upper right corner) to see what the status is for some of the items that I requested from Amazon Vine (ordered, arriving.., delivered..., etc.) and I noticed a status that said "Return received - We will process your refund in 2-3 days. Once your refund is processed, it can take 2-3 business days for the refund appear in your bank account or credit card statement."

I never returned the item since I never received it nor do I believe that they ever shipped it.

I have had items which were shipped and then after the expected delivery date when I didn't receive it, the status would say something like "if you don't receive the item within 5 days, please contact Amazon" and then later change to "returning to sender" but this item apparently never shipped to me, was not delayed in transit, and they labelled it as a return... which I would never do with an Amazon Vine product even if defective. For a defective product, I would just write a negative review on it and that's it.

Has anyone had this happen to them where they didn't submit an Amazon (Vine) return but Amazon claims that the item was returned?

Sorry if this is a double post, I clicked on "Post" but could not find it on Reddit after posting it.

Not diggin the look 🤣

At least it's refreshing to see actual men's clothing instead of my RFY seeing if I'm in the market for a fresh spring dress but ya no I'll pass. Might be different if they had full length legs on them but no one would think I'm cute sporting this 🫣

Congrats To Whoever Scored This!

Especially because it was $0 ETV! Hopefully it went to somebody who could use it and love it! Congrats on your score! 😊

Vine Account Banned and Reinstated

To any who have had success getting their Vine account reactivated, can you share what steps you took and the response you were given? There seems to be a lot of information lacking in a lot of these posts on the road to reinstating. Ex. How long did it take? What emails actually yielded a response? Best times to email?

Being banned myself maybe this could be helpful for other users as well.

Vine reviews are sometimes the best

Just a quick observation. Too many people here say they don't "trust" other Vine reviews but I feel a good review is a good review, no matter where it comes from. And I've seen many great Vine reviews, like for the Yoga top I just looked at (it's not a Vine item). There were 7 or 8 garbage two sentence reviews on the item, all from different people and all spread out over time. Each consisted of just a couple of sentences, and although they ranged from 2 to 5 stars, none gave me any useful info. Then I see the one Vine review and it was just the way I review clothing. Two detailed paragraphs with useful information about the item, including measurements and good pics. I of course, rated it as helpful as it told me just what i needed to know about the item (which I am ordering now - although I hate ordering clothing I have to pay for upfront 😄).

Evaluation day question

I just logged in and saw a message saying, “ Your vine evaluation period Ended on May 20. We are currently updating your account which may take up to 96 hours”.

Does it really take that long?

My RtO ratio was 99%, Insightfulness was excellent, and total reviews were above 100.
