I have an in-wall 5.1 system but rarely use it. I mostly use the Sonos Arc Ultra that I got from Vine. I hope one of you could use this. It’s retail price is $599 and ETV is $457
Since getting the BERT Touch I have restored 7 ER batteries. I currently have 3 batteries on my workbench. The middle one in this picture kept turning off it’s charging once the mV delta got low enough, something none of the other batteries had done. It’s firmware is v.2.5.1.0 which came from a V3 that has an ESC firmware of v2.7.2
My personal board is a V2 with V.2.1.2.0 battery and v2.1.9 ESC. My question is, since we can’t upgrade our firmware, is it worth swapping the ESC and battery for this other board? What are the advantages if any?
Also, any real advantage to metal pulleys gears?
This was in my RFY. When I showed my wife and proceeded to see details, she said don’t read just get it before someone else does. It’s the latest version of Ninja’s popular product. We watched a few YouTube videos and picked up the ingredients today. It’s something she plans to do with the kids.
I have a friend in the Vancouver Washington area with the battery blinking red on power button 3 times a second and showing only 2 bars. That’s how he describes it.
If someone is in his area, can you help him?
Over a month ago, my friend had this odd problem with his 2009 Jetta 2.5. He sent me a video and I posted to this subreddit. Most people believe it was the Immobilizer not recognizing the key. I took all your responses and texted him what to do. It’s difficult to troubleshoot an issue over text messaging, especially with my friend who is not car savvy. Out of frustration, his mother, the car owner decided to buy a new car. She sold me the car for $160, the amount she said Carvana offered her. She sides I’d have to tow it.
When I tried to start the car, it started right away. Thinking I got away with highway robbery, took the car home. Next day it took it to get SMOG checked. No issues. My SMOG guy said it was a steal, with a good engine with only 98,000 miles. It passed SMOG easily. Drove it DMV. Drove it for days, detailed it, polished the headlights. Then today this happened.
Any clue? Don’t know why it says SAFE on the display. Help please. It’s my problem now.

I picked up this metallic grey Jetta that has tiny white spots on it. The paint is in really good condition despite being 2009.
The white spots look like over spray for home painters. Could be latex or even primer. I used a flat razor, Marolex sprayer with CarPro Ech2o as a lubricant to scrape spots of the glass. Easy enough. I don’t know how I should get these spots off the paint. As mentioned, the paint is good so I do not to use a heavy compound to rub them out. Do you think a plastic razor is the best option with heavy lubricant? I could scrape some of the spots with my fingernail others are on strong.
Plastic razor? Other options? I’d like to remove them all so I can ceramic coat.
I want to remove the seats for a deep clean. What tool/bit to remove unbolt the seats?
This is the third restored Mini-X I have sold, and it only had 49 miles on it. I posted the other two on this subreddit as well. Although this Mini-X had very low mileage it had a few scratches, looks like it was driven off the curb. Just like the others, I used my BERT Touch to restore the XR battery down to a delta of 20, then I just kept it on the charger until it sold.
The new owner has owned several electric skateboards, and said the Boosted Mini-X he had last was stolen out of his car. He stated, he knows there are newer boards with more range and speed, but nothing rides like Boosted. He is a San Francisco resident, I took the Mini-X to him as he no longer has a car. Taking BART (local subway system) into San Francisco was convenient especially on a perfect day like yesterday. The city’s streets were congested but moving, and the sidewalks full of commuters and tourists. So I mostly rode my V2 in the streets. Nothing like carving through the streets of Chinatown and Fishermen’s Wharf with the restored Mini-X strapped to my backpack.
He asked to test ride it before sending Venmo. I trusted him as he rounded the corners in Chinatown. He said the X will be his main ride as he takes BART to UC Berkeley where he teaches. I didn’t get a happy customer riding video like the last clip, so I added a San Francisco montage at the end. Ride Safe.
I am being sent the FiiO JadeAudio GIGAS 1 for review. I haven't reviewed a headphone amplifier before, so I'm reaching out to the headphone enthusiast community.
Some background on me. In the 80s, I ran a sound reinforcement company that supported bands and the emerging DJ scene in the San Francisco area. In the 90s, I owned a record company and was also the label's touring sound guy. In 2000, I worked for Monster Cable up until the release of the first Beats headphones. I am not a professional reviewer, but I do enjoy the hobby and free stuff. I bought my first amp at 16, a Hafler DH-500, and 40 years later, Fosi sent me my first product to review, the BT20A Pro amplifier. Since Fosi, I've kinda been lingering in the budget near-field area of audiophiles. I have done some wired IEM reviews for both personal use and musician playback. I apply what I already know about audio while always willing to learn and try new things. For example, I never understood the value of Open-Ear Headphones until I was asked to review the Cleer Arc 5. Just as my friend is going to lend me his Sennheiser HD-6xx to try out, I get this request to review this headphone amplifier from FiiO.
The FiiO JadeAudio GIGAS 1 should be here by Monday, and I plan to use both my MacBook Pro and the WiiM Pro Plus as a lossless source. The MacBook Pro will connect to the SMSL SU-1 DAC before going into the GIGAS 1. The WiiM output will go directly into the GIGAS 1, relying on the WiiM internal DAC. I also want to A-B test these setups with the Fosi Audio P3 Tube Preamp before the GIGAS. Unfortunately, I only have the borrowed Sennheiser HD- 6xx, and several KZ IEMs. If I really like the larger over-ear setup, I would consider getting either my own set of Sennheiser or Beyerdynamic DT series. I have learned that long-term use of IEMs like KZ or wireless Apple Pro are fatuging after a few hours. I have very little experience with full-size over-the-ear headphones. Even in our studio or mastering studio back in the 90s, I would ask the producer or engineer to play back over the speakers, as I didn't like how the AKG or Sennheisers squashed my head lol.
If you guys were to review this Fiio GIGAS 1, what do you look for? What are your expectations? Does my gear setup seem reasonable for a review? As I am not willing to buy new gear for this review, except maybe used headphones, I am open to recommendations. I have owned a FiiO BTR 3 for years and enjoy it, so I have good expectations for this GIGAS 1. Thanks in advance.
I have purchased and restored several Mini-X boards using my BERT Touch. This guy bought this board with only 40 miles on it. He came from Washington state, while visiting Palo Alto California he saw my listing on Marketplace. His mindset on buying a board over renting a car for his 10 day stay with a two mile daily commute was spot on. He said “Why waste money on a rental car when you could own a Boosted board.” We cruised around Stanford University for an hour. Welcome to the Boosted family!
My friend's 2009 Jetta cranks normally, starts immediately, runs smoothly for about 1–2 seconds, then shuts off cleanly every time. It doesn't sputter or struggle—it just dies.
A backup camera system was installed recently. The battery was disconnected during the installation, but the car drove normally for a while afterward with the camera working. This problem didn't start immediately after the install, so we're not sure if it's related or just a coincidence.
The car has already been at a general repair shop for two days. They haven't been able to diagnose the problem or identify any fault that explains the symptom. At this point, my friend doesn't want to keep paying for guesses and would rather hear from people who know these cars well.
Has anyone experienced this exact symptom on a 2009 Jetta?
Does this sound like an immobilizer issue, or are there other common Jetta-specific problems that can cause this exact behavior? Any known failure points or diagnostic steps you would recommend before replacing parts?

Picked up another Mini-X from a second owner. I asked him why he was selling. He said he bought it used for $400 and didn't ride it much; the battery stopped charging (RLOD). Now, he is moving and needs to sell stuff. He was the second owner, so the combined miles are 47.7 miles. This is the second board with fewer than 50 miles.
A branch under the weight of too many lemons came down. While cutting I noticed these massive thorns. This use to be my parents house, this tree is over 40 years old. My sister thinks it’s because my mom planted Roses next to it 😂. Some of the thorns are close to 2 inches long.
Just recently sold a Mini-X with a restored XR battery using BERT Touch. The new owner asked what the best practices are for maintaining the battery long-term, so I put together a quick care sheet for him.
Before I send it over, I wanted to run it by the community here and see if there’s anything you would change, add, or disagree with.
If you won’t be riding for several weeks, store the battery around 50–70% charge instead of 100%.
Try not to leave the board at 0% for extended periods. Recharge after riding when possible.
Boosted XR batteries tend to stay healthier when used periodically rather than sitting unused for months.
Avoid prolonged exposure to excessive heat, cold, or moisture.
It is OK to charge to 100% before riding. For long-term storage, a partial charge is preferred.
Check the battery every few weeks and recharge if needed.
• The Boosted XR battery uses lithium-ion cells similar to those used in EVs and other high-performance electronics.
• Some balancing variation between cell groups is normal.
• Proper storage and regular use help reduce the chance of future battery imbalance issues.

Now they may be losing their lease.
The owners are asking the Fremont community to show support at an upcoming City Council meeting regarding the future of the café.

At a time when independent local businesses continue to disappear, places like this are worth protecting — especially one connected to such an iconic and nostalgic Fremont landmark.

At 2:45 we heard sirens, then later smelled faint smoke. Found out on PulsePoint there was a total of 8 Fremont Fire Department vehicles on site, that included 4 engines. It looks like a work vehicle was on fire. No clue how it started or injuries. The vehicle was off-road in the grassy field near the entrance to the Crandall Creek Trail (location link below).
Just a second away. It popped up, I instantly clicked “See details” and I knew seeing that spinning wheel I was too late. That confirmation “Error… Error displaying product details” was it. Check to make sure it wasn’t a network issue by clicking something else. Then I recorded this clip for you all.
My kid is moving out of the dorms, this would have been perfect for his tiny apartment.
Previous owner sold me this Mini X claims it has less than 50 miles. I want to confirm this but Blast Off just goes black after attempting connecting. Under side of rear trucks look brand new, but I still want to see mileage on app. I’ve connected 4 boards successfully with Blast Off app just not this one. Any ideas that can help?
Pick up another Mini-X from Facebook Marketplace for one fifty. The battery cosmetically looks brand new, same as the board, but has RLOD, but I have a BERT Touch, so win win for me. This video is with a spare battery; while the RLOD battery is on the bench with BERT. The seller swapped out the bushings and lost the original ones. Does this decrease the value? He claims it has less than 50 miles on it, but the Blast Off app sees the board, but when selected, it does not load. Has anyone experienced the Blass Off app doing that?
I like getting and reviewing tools from Vine, especially power tools. I've had a gardener for over 14 years, so I can spend more time with the kids on the weekends. Now that kids are older, I am considering mowing my own lawn again and also saving some money. My wife was against the idea. I hesitated, and within an hour the mower was gone and so was the cordless hedge trimmer. I should have just requested it and canceled if I changed my mind, I know. Or did I dodge a bullet?
