Fair Warning - Cops Will Cite Swimmers in Alameda Creek This Weekend

> Community: Criminal Trespassing in the Niles Creek Area: Subject to Citation and Arrest > > Dear Tim Woolery, > > Planning a Memorial Day picnic this weekend? If your plans include a day at Niles Creek, think again! Swimming or gathering in the Niles Creek area is both illegal and unsafe, and officers will be on patrol in the area this weekend, keeping an eye out for trespassers. >
> The Niles Creek and surrounding lands are off limits and trespassing into the creek area can be punishable by arrest per California Penal Code 602(O)(1). The Fremont Police Department is working in conjunction with the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission, Alameda County, and Cal-Trans, to enforce trespassing laws in the Niles Creek and surrounding lands. Violators will be cited and/or arrested. Additionally, vehicles found to be illegally parked will be cited and/or towed. >
> We understand the desire to cool off during hot weather, but the Niles Creek has many hidden dangers, and people have lost their lives while swimming in this area. Please use an alternate location to have your outdoor gatherings or to cool off in the water. Public options are listed below:

When Mission San Jose High School in Fremont became majority Asian, they cancelled their football program. "According to Coach Kevin Lydon, trying to muster enthusiasm for football on the Mission High campus was 'like trying to sell electricity to the Amish.' " Thoughts?

Fremont, CA is about 65% Asian, of which 29% is Indian and 19% is Chinese.

Mission San Jose High School is 89% Asian. This discussion is about its football program.

Something similar also appears to be happening in schools in the suburbs of Seattle and Dallas: as more Indian families move in, participation in high school football declines.

Your thoughts?

Whyyy no downtown in Fremont?

Fremont seems like a big enough city in the Bay Area but why it never advocated for a downtown like other small Bay Area cities

The Fremont / Parish / Peralta lot is finally gonna get some houses built

From Merc News:

FREMONT — An affordable housing development that could produce hundreds of apartments in Fremont is moving forward after a real estate alliance bought the land needed for the project.

USA Properties Fund and Riverside Charitable Corp., through an affiliate, paid $11.5 million to buy most of the parcels that would be required, documents filed on May 15 with the Alameda County Recorder’s Office show.

Is this illegal?

Got this note on my car in the morning for parking in front of this person's house. Is there any city ordinance that says I can't park in front of a house do to trash pickup, or is this just an idle threat?

Edit: For context, I don't live on this street. I have to park here because it's the closest spot to my apartment building about a half mile away. There are only 11 open parking spots available for my building and they are almost always taken. I don't want to park here but its by far the best option for me. The tape was annoying but I got all of it off with no residue and I figured the police wouldn't care over such a small issue. I'm also unaware of what day trash collection is and I didn't see any trash cans out the night before.

MSJ - hot RE market.

Mission Hills (Hunter Ave) area is on fire. $950 per sq ft. Hardly any inventory coming up. The houses are not even that impressive relative to Ruby Hills in Pleasanton. This house was old and probably needs another $500k renovation upgrade the bathrooms and kitchen. It can’t be just MSJ Schools!

police activity at niles & nursery, anyone know what happened

edit: at&t trucks and personnel were onsite, dragging a cable across the road. Going to guess a telecom line fell, police came to block off the street.

What is being built at old Wells Fargo site on Walnut?

I saw they tore down the old Wells Fargo. What are they planning to build there? Another apartment complex? I hope this becomes the new, new downtown Fremont since the original plans from pre-covid days seems like they will never happen.
