Fremont seems like a big enough city in the Bay Area but why it never advocated for a downtown like other small Bay Area cities

Does anyone know any information about maybe a high-school shooting that’s occurred between Monday - Wednesday. My sister and her friend were talking about something like that and I’m just curious if anyone else heard about it .

police activity at niles & nursery, anyone know what happened

edit: at&t trucks and personnel were onsite, dragging a cable across the road. Going to guess a telecom line fell, police came to block off the street.

Did anyone hear the helicopter blasting “bad boys” by Blacow and Stevenson? They were circling around the neighborhood.

I saw they tore down the old Wells Fargo. What are they planning to build there? Another apartment complex? I hope this becomes the new, new downtown Fremont since the original plans from pre-covid days seems like they will never happen.
