Fremont Firefighters, Local 1689, are proud to bring back for its second year, the Anthony Ganzler Memorial Pickleball Tournament. More than just a day of competition, this is an opportunity for us to collectively celebrate Anthony’s life while supporting a great cause: all profits from the event will benefit the Fremont Firefighters Benevolent Fund, a 501(c)(3) organization that allows us to directly support our community and fellow firefighters when they need it most.
Whether you’re a seasoned player or just looking to have fun**,** all skill levels are welcome! Grab a partner, register your team, and help us honor Anthony’s legacy on and off the court.

Fremont sales tax proposed to go from 10.25% to 10.75% - let's take a look.
The labor costs of Bay Area transit agencies don't make sense when agencies claim they are broke and then want regressive taxes, which disproportionately impact the poor, to underwrite the compensation. Below you will see the Muni cost structure - but you could pick any Bay Area transit agency and will get to BART later.
I guess you could say "isn't great to see transit workers getting paid like doctors and lawyers." But by every measure these cost structures are not sustainable and are running transit into the ground. Voting yes on the transit tax is further underwriting these comp packages - of course you may agree with it, but the issue here is transparency. What is also astonishing about Muni is its employees have a 26% absentee rate ie Muni workers are out every fourth day on average.
Make any of this make sense.
Could you please share your experience with Washington hospital for labour and delivery?
I’m a second time mom and currently seeing Dr. Lo at PAMF Fremont.
Ideally I would like to try for VBAC if possible but I’m preparing myself for a second time c-section (the first labour was traumatic that ended in a c-section and recovery was extremely painful for me, which terrifies me of having another c-section).
Do the on-call Doctors at Washington support VBAC?
How are the nurses and midwives?
How is the hospital infrastructure and cleanliness?
I’m so anxious about the hospital I choose because of my traumatic previous experience.
Should I switch to an OBGYN who delivers at Stanford? Is the downside of longer travel worth it?
Thanks in advance!
Hi! We are Having our first baby at Washington next year.
I wanted to know what your experience has been here. Are they pushy on C Sections? I’m looking to do vaginal birth but obviously am open to c section for an emergeny
Any ideas of how the nurses are? I’m really nervous about not having a good team on my side for our first baby. I read that they aren’t very nice and I’m so nervous about that?
I have a really good OBGYN at PAMF who I love so dearly… but I’m starting to think maybe we should look at delivering at Stanford. Ahh… just so confused. What’s the process when switching over OB Care during the second trimester?
Any tips for a first time momma? Thank you!!!!
Today around 1:00 PM near Lake Elizabeth (Stevenson & Gallaudet), my boyfriend was riding his scooter when a van exiting the parking lot struck him and fled toward Mission Blvd**.**
A bystander called Fremont PD but was told no officers were available and to file a report online. It’s now been about 5 hours since the report was filed with no follow-up.
I understand departments can be busy, but how does a driver hit someone and flee the scene without warranting an officer response or, at the very least, a timely follow up? Mind you, the Fremont Police Department is literally about a block away! Feeling incredibly frustrated with Fremont PD.
If you were in the area around 1:00 PM today and witnessed the incident or have any dashcam footage of the van, please reach out. Any information could help identify the driver.
Hi. Does anyone have Kuromi and want to trade for Hello Kitty? Please let me know. Thx.
Looking for a backdrop of transmission lines or towers in Fremont. Any specific locations you’d recommend?
I thought I saw somewhere that this restuarant would open at the end of July, but it still doesn't seem to be open yet. Is there any word on when it'll open?
Seen on 8/17 around 7:30-7:40 PM in Mission Valley Neighborhood. No collar or leash and no owner around. Didn’t chase, but saw from a distance the dog running up on the streets towards Washington Blvd Bridge. Is this anyone’s lost dog?
Visited for the first time today. Such a clean and cozy store, nice collection of books. Has a reading nook in the back for kids too.
Hi,
I’m looking to get a haircut. I recently lost a job. So, I can afford only $50 including tips.
My regular hairdresser charges upwards of $100.
Any recommendations for clean, reliable places?
Thanks!
Paseo padre, making a left turn onto Washington blvd. Love ittttt 👀
Looking for an affordable independent auto shop or mobile mechanic around Fremont/Newark/Union City to fix a shifter interlock issue on a 2013 Altima (stuck in Park).
Mainly looking for someone who offers fair labor rates and would be willing to work with customer-supplied parts if needed.
Any local shop or mobile mechanic recommendations would be greatly appreciated!
