New coffee shop concept with chocolate based deserts and crepes and premium coffee drinks is coming to 3954 Mowry Ave, Fremont. It will be at Fremont Plaza on Mowry Ave and Fremont Blvd (right next to Starbucks) where Chaat Cafe used to be at. I seriously feel left behind now on the coffee shop gravy train!

Barnes & Noble opening at Pacific Commons in November 2026
The bookstore will be located at 43598 Christy St., and is slated to open in Fremont's Pacific Commons Shopping Center in November, according to Barnes & Noble's website. The space formerly housed DSW, which has since moved to a smaller site within the shopping center. It had been seasonally used as a Spirit Halloween shop.
There are over 100 coffee & tea posts around Fremont and this town probably has the most coffee and tea shops in East Bay! Another ten shops have opened since last update.
Starbucks still rules the market.
Two more Yemeni coffee shops are under construction. Delah and Sanaa Coffee have yet to disclose their Fremont locations.
Five Vietnamese coffee shops have opened in last two years. Very trendy.
Over fifty boba shops! No surprise there…
Dutch Bros coming to Warm Springs but have not disclosed their Fremont location yet. Could be the BK location!

After smashing success of Delah and Qamaria in the area, ajither Yemeni coffee shop is coming. It will takeover the former Starbucks site at Hacienda on Dublin Blvd.
The construction is almost complete and it is now hiring. It is across from Irvington High School (old Bronco Billy’s Pizza spot) at the corner of Grimmer and Blacow. Fremont has over 90 coffee & tea spots! Monasaba Cafe is very popular in Canada.
Starbird Chicken will occupy Boston Market site next to Jamba Juice at the corner of Fremont Blvd and Mowry Ave.

We don’t have to go to Peninsula for the most authentic sweet bread anymore. They open on Decoto Rd at Safeway shopping center (next to Suju’s Coffee).
Prediction: a prelude to higher taxes because the city is not getting enough funding from the state!
Yemeni Coffee shops are going mainstream in California after conquering Michigan. The location will be right across from Starbucks and just couple of blocks away from Suju’s Coffee. They are expensive but Starbucks supports Israel and the muslim-boycott of Starbucks is helping these shops grow. This will be fifth Yemeni/Arabic coffee shop in Fremont.
Over the years, the parade has been lame. More people show up for India Day celebration than July 4th. Maybe combine both events together and more residents will show up!
Mission Hills (Hunter Ave) area is on fire. $950 per sq ft. Hardly any inventory coming up. The houses are not even that impressive relative to Ruby Hills in Pleasanton. This house was old and probably needs another $500k renovation upgrade the bathrooms and kitchen. It can’t be just MSJ Schools!
