What's up with JFK

Have a flight tomorrow on a regional jet to JFK, but a bit concerned that there have been two near misses there in the last month, one of which involved the airline I'm taking (endeavor.) Anyone have insight on how these might have happened/what steps would have been taken to address them? I've been more concerned by ATC tower issues more than anything else lately.

Anyone have experience dealing with a pending purchase on Steam? Managed to get through checkout with a steam controller today but the payment didn’t fully go through. Steam says it’s a pending purchase and it’ll take up to 72 hours to fully clear. Would steam hold on to a controller until then?
