Submitted my resignation letter tonight because of everything happening with the Philippine government.
For context, I am currently working as a company nurse, but before this, I worked as a bedside (hospital) nurse for about 8 months and resigned because the environment became too toxic for me.
I submitted my resignation letter because of everything happening in our Philippine government lately. Noong pumutok yung issue about flood control, and seeing how some senators seemed to be protecting or delaying accountability, doon pa lang gusto ko nang mag-resign. Pero pinigilan ko pa sarili ko noon.
But then lumabas ulit si Bato recently, and seeing senators protecting him in the Senate, gumagawa ng delaying tactics regarding Sara Duterte’s impeachment, plus seeing supporters still defending them no matter what — sobrang nakakapagod at nakakagalit. It feels so exhausting and infuriating.
Last night ko ginawa yung resignation letter ko. Pinigilan ko pa talaga sarili ko na huwag muna yon ipasa. Pero today, after seeing another Senate update about senators protecting Bato, barilan sa senado, + yung umiikot na scripted din daw lahat para makatakas si bato o mas madelay ang impeachment ni Sarah Duterte—I submitted my resignation letter to my supervisor through email without hesitation. Hindi pa siya nagre-respond probably because gabi na rin, but I will talk to him tomorrow and wait for his advice regarding the HR process.
Right now, ang nasa isip ko lang ay magtrabaho ulit sa hospital to gain another year of experience before flying abroad next year. Malaking tulong na rin siguro na most of my family members are already working abroad, and matagal na nila akong gustong kunin doon. Kasi honestly, by 2028, hindi malabong manalo si Sara Duterte bilang presidente, and I genuinely do not want to spend my future under that kind of political environment anymore.
Nakakapagod din isipin na yung tax sa sahod ko — taxes that could already pay for my utilities — tapos pakiramdam mo kukurakutin lang din. Nakakagalit talaga.
