Weekly Giveaway: Roast My Setup!

Think your setup is a masterpiece? Let Reddit be the judge.

Skip the polished gym tours. This week, we want to see your real everyday training space: the good, the bad, and the questionable gear choices.

No VOLTRA? No problem. Whether you have a massive garage gym, a rack squeezed into a spare room, or just a few dumbbells in the corner. If it’s where you train, it counts. You might think your layout is genius… until someone spots that one detail you’ve been blind to for months.

How to Enter:

  1. Post a photo of your current training space. (Bonus points if you tell us one thing you love and one thing you want to improve.)
  2. Join the roast: Hit the comments and roast at least one other member's setup. (Keep it fun, keep it friendly, we're not looking to start fights here)

The Prizes:

Most Roast-Worthy Setup

  • 1 Grand Prize: 50,000 Power Credits ($500 value)
  • 3 Runners-Up: 20,000 Power Credits each

Best Roast Comment

  • 5 Winners: 10,000 Power Credits each

Bonus: Everyone with a valid entry gets Power Credits just for stepping into the arena.

Got roasted? Take your credits, upgrade your setup, and come back stronger.

Winners will be announced in 5 days. Let the roasting begin!

[Weekly Giveaway] Fix My Setup: The Home Gym Compromises We All Make

The more time you spend with your setup, the more you want to push it.

You swap out old attachments, test new anchor heights, and try to squeeze every last bit of versatility out of your space. But as you upgrade, the new setup puzzles start creeping in. Maybe your cable line rubs your forearms half the time during flies, or your horizontal row pulls at an awkward angle that throws off your line of pull. Or maybe a pulldown setup feels amazing, until you realize switching back to benching means pulling three pins, moving two brackets, and losing ten minutes of momentum.

Building a home gym is a constant cycle of tinkering, testing, and making trade-offs.

Whether you’re right in the middle of solving one of these setup headaches, or you’ve already figured out a clever fix that made your workouts smoother — this week is all about sharing what works and what needs help.

How to Enter

Pick whichever side you're on this week:

The Setup Challenge

Got a setup problem you're trying to figure out? Drop 1 photo or short clip of your setup in the comments, and tell us in 2–3 short sentences:

  1. What are you trying to accomplish?
  2. What's giving you trouble? (e.g., cable travel, anchor positioning, slow exercise swaps)

The Community Fix

Already solved a tricky setup problem, or got a clever idea for someone else? Reply to another member’s post with your tips, mounting ideas, or attachment hacks (photos of your own fix are a huge bonus!).

Prizes

  • 6 Main Winners (3 Challengers + 3 Solvers). Each picks a Beyond Power Tote Bag + ONE Mount of Choice, or takes 20,000 Power Credits instead.
  • Participation Bonus: Everyone who drops a valid entry gets Power Credits as a thank you!

Winners will be announced in 5 days.

[Weekly Giveaway] HomeGymCon 2026: You Train Alone All Year. This Weekend You Don't.

Fifty-one weeks a year, this is a solo sport. Cold rubber at 5am, the same playlist, a rack you built yourself, nobody around to see the set that finally went up clean.

Then for one weekend in Louisville, thousands of people doing that exact same thing walk into the same room. Floor packed with unreleased prototypes and vendors who actually let you load the thing up. If you've had this circled since January, this thread is yours.

We don't have a booth this year. Our partners have VOLTRA units integrated across several booths on the floor, and honestly, we'd rather spend this weekend seeing what you're seeing.

You don't need to own a VOLTRA to enter.

Floor Entries

You're already twenty thousand steps in with a phone full of photos. Post them:

  • The rack setup or cable build that made you stop mid-aisle
  • Knurling worth arguing about, or unannounced prototypes
  • Heavy reps, floor madness, and raw, shaky vertical video—we'll take it all

Spot the VOLTRA (Bonus Entry): Find a unit on the floor and show us how it's hooked up. First time on one? Say what you actually thought—what surprised you, how the resistance felt, or what you'd change. Blunt is welcome. Unflattering is a-okay.

Couch Crew

Most of this community isn't in Louisville, because flights and hotels are a commitment. But your gym already exists because of people like this—somebody posted their basement setup at 11pm and you screenshotted it. This weekend just moves that indoors with a real-life crowd.

So put in your request:

  • A booth, attachment, or piece you want someone to walk over and look at
  • The burning question you'd ask a vendor face-to-face

(No promises every request gets picked up, but this crowd tends to come through for each other—and your entry counts either way!)

Prizes

  • 3 Floor Winners: Squat Harness V4 + Mount of your choice + Beyond Power Tote
  • 3 Couch Crew Winners: AlumaCore Bar + Beyond Power Tote
  • EVERYONE WINS: Every valid entry gets Power Credits!

(Winners posted in 5 days. Go make the rest of us jealous!)

How did DTR, Sled Pull, Mountain Profile, and the 230 lb max resistance update perform for you? What surprised you? What worked well? What needs improvement?

No feedback is too small — a detail, a feature request, or something that felt a little off all helps us make VOLTRA better.

Share your thoughts here:

Feedback Form

As a small thank-you, 10 respondents will receive 1,000 Power Credits.

Thanks for helping us catch the things we missed.

Weekly Giveaway: In Leg Day We Believe (Belt Squat, Round 2)

Six months ago we asked to see your belt squat setups. What came back: horse stall mats, a mount bolted to something that was technically a rack, and at least one build our product team screenshotted and has, as far as we know, never deleted.

A lot of you have joined since then. Several of you have been quietly upgrading your rigs and telling nobody. Round 2 starts today.

On the number, since it always comes up. Load is one variable. What that load is doing through the range is the other one, and that second variable is where this sub loves to tinker with. There are people here who have turned a belt squat rig into the worst forty minutes of their week without going anywhere near the top of the range. We're a little scared of you.

How to Enter

Photo or short clip of your belt squat setup in action, plus two lines:

  • The Hardware. Platform, mount, belt, and whatever you fabricated at 11pm on a Sunday to make it work.
  • The Software. Good ol' Weight mode, Chains, Eccentric Overload, or a custom curve you built and then immediately regretted. Give us the setting, not just the weight.

Brand new builds and version 2.0s of your original entry both count. If you entered in round 1, come back and show us what changed. Redemption arcs welcome.

What You Can Win
Five winners. Each picks one Mount plus one Bar from the FusionCore, AlumaCore or Carbon Bar series, or takes 30,000 Power Credits instead.

Winners announced in 5 days

Comment here, or make a separate post with "Belt Squat 2.0" in the title.

[Weekly Giveaway] Meme Week: Cook Us

This week's entry requirement is one meme. That's it.

Roast our accessory drop schedule, your own form, the cable, the app, whatever gets the community laughing. We can take it, and honestly some of it we deserve.

How to Enter

  1. Make an original VOLTRA meme. Workouts, setups, struggles, wins, or us.
  2. Post it with [memes] in the title, or just drop it in the comments.

Prizes

  • Top meme: Premium Carabiner Pack + 1 Brorange FusionCore Bar
  • 3 winners: 1 FusionCore Bar each (Brorange or Silver, winner’s choice)
  • 5 winners: 10,000 Power Credits each

Winners announced in 5 days. If your meme is at our expense, that counts in your favor.

This could have been a product launch: VOLTRA Firmware 2.0 Beta is open

Most of the tech you own is built to age out: obsolete by design, clearing the shelf for next year's model. Firmware 2.0 is the opposite bet: the biggest update we've ever engineered, landing on the VOLTRA already in your gym.

VOLTRA has always been built with you, not just for you. The heavy setups, the weird rigs, the feature requests that turned into features: that back-and-forth is what keeps raising what this hardware can do, and Firmware 2.0 is the next round of it. We'd like to keep that going for a long time.

What's in the beta

230 lb max resistance

We're raising the ceiling from 200 lb / 90 kg to 230 lb / 104 kg across supported training functions, giving you more headroom for heavy strength work and demanding cable setups.

The number is the easy part. Holding it steady, at exactly the weight you set, on every rep, is where it gets hard. Getting there safely meant more precise control across the entire system: motor output, power delivery, thermal management, and the safety limits watching over all of it. The same hardware, taken further than we originally shipped it.

A note: like any motor-driven system, higher sustained load draws more battery per session, the same way 150 lb already runs down faster than 60 lb today.

DTR (Dynamic Tension Response)

DTR improves VOLTRA's response during ballistic and explosive movements, tracking rapid cable motion so resistance stays smooth and consistent through each rep.

To enable DTR, go to:

Settings > Advanced > User Mode > Sport Mode > DTR

A one-time calibration is required before your first DTR session.

Mountain (inspired by LzrJ)

A new resistance profile under Weight Training. Resistance peaks in the middle of the range and eases off at the start and finish, matching movements where your strength curve does the same: biceps curls, leg extensions, leg curls, chest flies. Within Weight Training, you'll choose one of Chains, Inverse Chains, or Mountain per setup.

Eccentric / Chains / Inverse Chains percentage control

Adjust the percentage on these profiles directly, so dialing in advanced resistance curves is faster and more precise.

Sled Pull

Sled-drag resistance without the sled, the turf lane, or the floor space. Load it heavier than most real sleds, and with no rope to reset between efforts, you can run longer continuous sets and build endurance right in the hinge.

Home Layout

Arrange training functions the way you actually use them.

To customize your home screen, go to:

Settings > General > Home Layout

How to join

Click [Join the beta] and submit your VOLTRA I serial number. We're collecting eligible devices now, with the beta rollout expected to begin gradually this weekend.

If you run into any issues, contact beta@beyond-power.com or leave a comment below.

Beyond Cortex beta: put an AI agent to work on your VOLTRA training.

We're opening a beta for Beyond Cortex. It enables an AI agent to tap into your authorized training data and write things back like session plans and custom resistance curves. If you've ever wanted to get further under the hood than Beyond+ currently lets you, this is for you.

Here's what your agent can do with Beyond Cortex:

Understand Your Training

Read your training history and turn it into something you can use: what's trending up, where you've stalled, how your volume is tracking. Ask for a read on your last week or last 30 days and you get patterns from your own numbers, not a generic take.

Build a Session

Turn a training goal into a full VOLTRA session, using your own training rather than a template. A back day around circuits and drop sets, a lighter deload week, whatever you're working toward.

Shape a Resistance Curve

Design a VOLTRA-ready resistance curve for a specific movement or muscle group, so you can load a lift the way you want it loaded.

Control Your VOLTRA

When you're ready to train, it can set training modes and adjust supported settings on your unit, so the session you designed is queued up and ready to go.

Build Your Own Tools

You can also build on it directly. Whether you're building a coaching dashboard, a custom training assistant, or a personal workflow, Beyond Cortex gives your tools a structured way to work with VOLTRA and Beyond+.

The first three don't need your VOLTRA connected, so you can work from anywhere.

What's in the beta:

  • VOLTRA Skills: the instructions that teach an AI agent how to work with VOLTRA correctly, so it knows what it can do and how. This is what makes an agent useful the moment you point it at your training.
  • VOLTRA CLI: the command-line tool the agent (or you) uses to do the actual work.
  • Your API key: you generate it in Beyond+ to get access.

How to Get In

Open the latest version of Beyond+, look for the Beyond Cortex banner to request beta access and generate your API key.

Then tell us what you make, or what breaks. Both help. We'll be in the comments.

Weekly Giveaway: Beyond+ Android's had three weeks now, how's it actually holding up?

Three weeks ago Beyond+ Android went live. Should be long enough for some of you to get real sessions on it. We want honest takes from everyone, iOS and Android.

To sweeten the deal, we're putting 75,000 Power Credits on the line for 5 winners who drop the most valuable, brutal, or entertaining entries.

  • iOS: you've been on this app a while longer: what's the one change that'd make your training better?
  • Everyone: smallest quality-of-life tweak that'd help you right now? (Sessions and Twin Mode are already on the Android roadmap, so aimsmaller than those.)

[Weekly Giveaway] VOLTRA on the Loose: Show Us Your Outdoor Setups

Summer weekends are for road trips, campfires, fishing days, and lake houses. Training shouldn't be the thing you leave at home.

Tell us:

  • The Spot: Where'd you set up? Park, campsite, backyard, dock, patio. Photo, video, or just describe it.
  • The Loadout: How'd you rig it? Strap Mount, DIY Dock, or something you built yourself.
  • The Session: What did you train out there, and how'd it feel working out under open sky?

How to Enter:

  • Share your setup in the comments, or create a post with [On the Loose] in the title
  • Keep it brief—a quick photo or video goes a long way in explaining a killer setup.

Giveaway Details:

  • Prize: 5 winners, 15,000 Power Credits each
  • Selection: Based on a combination of upvotes and ingenuity
  • Timeline: Winners announced in 5 days

[Weekly Giveaway] ELI5: A weight that can change how it fights you

Think of whatever you've trained with: a dumbbell, a barbell, a loaded cable stack, a machine. They all run on the same rule. The number you pick is the number you're stuck with. Every rep, start to finish, and it never reacts to what you're doing.

VOLTRA can break that rule. It can change what the weight does to you mid-rep: push back harder, ease off when you're stuck, or fight you more the faster you move.

Two things we want from you:

  1. Explain what it's like to someone who's never lifted. A kid, your neighbor, your least gym-curious friend. We don't want a list of settings, just one simple explanation of why you'd want a weight that doesn't sit there at a single, constant number at the whim of gravity.
  2. Then tell us what it gets you. Maybe no part of a rep ever gets to be easy, or you can finally go all-out on your own, or you squeeze more out of a shorter session.

Two rules:

  • No naming modes or training science speak. "Eccentric", "variable resistance", "hypertrophy" stay at the door. We want the everyday version.
  • Keep it kid-simple. If a 5-year-old wouldn't get it, simplify it.

Drop your ELI5 in the comments. 6 winners, 10,000 Power Credits each, picked for the clearest and most creative explanation. Announced in 5 days.
