LA Fitness Crossroads (Irvine) is fine with neo-Nazis. Corporate confirmed that nazi gear is allowed.
Just an FYI, I had a rather disappointing experience with LA Fitness. Nazi gear is fine there.
I saw this hero wearing a neo-Nazi sweatshirt on multiple occasions at LA Fitness Crossroads in Irvine.
The brand is Curb Stomp MFG, which is an exclusively neo-Nazi branded attire website (https://curbstompmfg.com) (https://x.com/CurbStompMFG). Their website is now private and requires a log-in.
I straight-up asked him if that was a neo-Nazi sweatshirt, and he proudly said yes, and that he specifically hates Israel. Ok, I didn't ask about Israel, but good to know. I was honestly hoping (but doubting) that he didn't realize what he was wearing, but he doubled down. My guess is he thought I would agree with him (I don't).
I didn't escalate, and I immediately notified the front desk. Front desk employees told me that they really couldn't do anything since "there's a guy that wears OnlyFans shirts." I expressed my concern that wearing neo-Nazi attire is not remotely the same thing as wearing OnlyFans gear. The employees told me that a manager was unavailable, but they would log it in both our accounts and get back to me. Reported it again after seeing the same thing a few days later.
Management never contacted me, so after a week, I tried contacting them. I was initially told that the managers were busy, and every call, I was told that a manager would call me "within an hour." After seven separate phone calls over several days and being forgotten on hold several times, I was eventually told that a manager would not speak to me about this and my only recourse was to email corporate. I did, and their response is in the second photo.
Apparently, neo-Nazi gear is not "explicit." I asked for clarification on what "explicit" means under their policy, as this is explicit neo-Nazi merch. But maybe since there are no boobies, the children are safe in their eyes. I never got a further response, so I decided to cancel my membership.
I understand a policy of freedom of expression (not to be confused with a constitutional right, which is different than a private company's policy). However, I don't want to support a business that is fine with overt Nazis.
Sucks. I previously liked the gym. Now I guess I need to find another one.
