Advice please!
I'm wondering whether to try a second claim or not after a first successful one, or whether claiming again could even backfire and mean they could reconsider the first claim? And whether they would be classed as different conditions or not?
In basic terms, my cat had an emergency at an out-of-hours which I claimed for successfully (reaching my max claim threshold) and the reason given from my insurers was "low blood potassium", but the emergency vets had to refer me on to a specialist hospital which he stayed at for another few days.
The specialist hospital later diagnosed him with "acute on chronic renal disease" which appeared to be the cause of the low blood potassium, as well as other things like anaemia and high blood pressure.
He also has an exclusion in his policy that says "Excluding claims resulting from or connected to Conditions Causing The Clinical Signs Of Weight Loss"
I basically reached the limit of what I can claim with this condition - if it would be classed as the same condition - but I wondered whether it would be worth trying to claim for his time at the hospital considering they gave a different diagnosis? Or whether the fact that he was diagnosed there with renal disease, which I assume is a condition related to weight loss would make my other claim void, and then they'd ask for the money back on the first claim?
