Not long ago, I managed to finish a longtime favorite build. This one took me a few months to finalize—I was being lazy and waiting to gather quality parts! The result is what I consider a perfect piece. Honestly, nothing here can be improved. Maybe the dial, but I chose it based on my personal preference, so I won’t change that either.

The Valjoux 72 movement is probably the cleanest one I’ve ever seen, and its performance is off the charts, running at basically +1 second a day. I’ll be making a cool video and taking more pictures of this one, but for now, enjoy!

This is a fantasy piece sadly, this color never appeared on a genuine Daytona. But that won’t stop me from building this beauty again!

For this one, I think a clean, unaged look was the right approach. The dial’s glossy surface is the perfect backdrop for the all silver hands. There isn’t much else to say, Viet dial, thinner sub dial hands, aftermarket high quality trip lock crown and tube, Viet bezel, JK case reshaped to match the 13.5 mm thickness, and a perfect result!

I have two more green dials in different shades that I’ll be putting together very soon. Stay tuned!

Steel or acrylic bezel? That’s always a tough choice. I love both each has its own character and appeal.

As always, my goal with the aging is to show the passage of time rather than neglect or poor care. I’m never 100% satisfied, but I always enjoy the process
