So, one of the higher end projects I’m working on, the Ocean Pearl… A cartier mother of pearl dial GMT, just hit an interesting wrinkle.

A member here reached out and informed me that my 100% original - seriously, this is not out there, has been duped by a Chinese dial maker who is selling it on a Chinese market site.

it’s a crappy copy. The lumes are wrong, date window has a cheezy metal surround (not correct for this model) and printing is 2nd rate.

But it’s unmistakably the same design DNA.🧬

Should I be upset? Should I be flattered?

It’s a rep of a rep of a rep maybe.

This is rep dial inception (movie reference).

The seller is supposedly going to take it down after being called out. They don’t want the bad rep or hassle..but…damn. 🤕

Either way, I guess the world is smaller than i thought. and maybe it’s karmic justice for the reps we do.

This is my first Vintage Rep, I wanted to post it here to ask a few questions.

Does the aging look accurate between all the components?

I had it made with a tropical dial but when I received it in person after a couple days of wear I decided i’m not a big fan of the tropical. I would like to go with a black matte dial and was curious which dials I would be able to put into this case and where to get them?

Also Is there anything I can swap or mod to make it look as authentic as possible? From what I have learned the dial and lumes aren’t the best. I know this is a question that’s going to piss off a lot of people in this sub because “I’m supposed to wear it and not worry about getting called out because nobody knows anyways or pays attention” But I want honest opinions because I want to be able to wear it confidently like my VSF and CF watches.

Thinking of making this into a desk mat or a poster for fun. Am I pretty close to accurate? Would appreciate some feedback.

I really enjoy working on projects that span nearly every price range to offer something for everyone.

7 builds were made available ranging for base level builds with Raffles foundations to top tier Franken/Gen builds. All with a good bit of elbow grease and passion for these vintage builds.

On this 250 year anniversary of the American declaration to do something radically different, it’s a good moment to reflect.

The road is long, they say.

Like the watches we love, time leaves its mark on all of us. That’s not something to hide—it’s what gives character.

Somehow… we’re at 13,500 members.

When this community started, it was just a handful of people obsessed with old watches, faded bezels, warm tritium, and stories that couldn’t be bought new.

But for me, today is less about milestones and more about gratitude.

Thank you to everyone who posts, comments, teaches, builds, critiques, lurks, and simply enjoys the hobby. You’ve made r/VintageRepWatches into something none of us could have built alone.

The journey is still just beginning. There are more projects to build, more history to chase, more stories to tell, and many more miles ahead.

Here is my newest personal build, only just the start but very happy so far. Currently running a 2836 ETA but may look to change it in the future. First time aging a dial for a creamy patina over pumpkin. A little more crown guard shaping needed I think.

Hi everyone, just update my 16750 ( all raffles, plexy and insert eBay ) with a new and high quality plexy from eBay! Very far from raffles stock plexy, this one have very nice magnification on the date and lovely reflection and distortion on borders! Let me know if you like that 🙏🏻

Tiffany & Co. Co-Branded 1675/8 “Concorde” – Brown Nipple Dial

Some watches are collectible.
Some are legendary.

And then there are watches like this.

The 18k yellow gold 1675/8 “Concorde” is already one of the most desirable GMT-Masters ever produced. Add an original Tiffany & Co. co-branded dial, and you’re looking at a piece that sits firmly in grail territory.

During the 1960s through the early 1990s, Tiffany & Co. retailed select Rolex watches with their signature printed directly on the dial, creating some of the most coveted double-signed vintage Rolexes in existence.
