Looking for feedback please!

Only lightly touched the lume but aiming towards a natural fade and well used look.

I went too heavy last few times and I am trying to find that line between making a difference and keeping it subtle.

This is a special gift for my brother in law. Using a super thin miyota 9000 specific case (with a 90s5 inside), dial from DS and hands from tokei. He wanted the dial sterile / no logo. Such a pleasure to build these- like cooking with high end ingredients.

And i have a very special thanks to u/_blitzer for helping me adapt the hands. This is a bgw9 dial (specifically for miyota movements), but somehow there are no silver snowflake bgw9 hands anywhere- not DS [where i got the dial], alix, namoki, ebay, any of the many resources out there. The only bgw9 snowflakes available on the market are for nh movements, it appears.

u/_blitzer to the rescue. He took a set of hands I sent to him and enlarged the holes to fit the miyota hand pinions. For the seconds hand (which its opening is too large for the pin), based on his advice, i lightly clamped and 'ovaled' the hole, allowing a friction fit (ruined a second hand on my first try with that maneuver)

Thrilled with the result and I'm sure the recipient of this gift will be too.

The case and bracelet from SHM is such an easy upgrade- better feel and a crystal with clear AR. Overall super straight forward and should only take 15 min (if that) to assemble at a relaxed pace. (Allowing the locktite to dry on stem will take longer than the actual build)

Fun build with 100% leftover NTH stock. Really too bad they closed shop because they had some really nice homages- the quality punched in way higher than their price.

This was their 'harrods' / vintage green build. True gilt on new dials these days are rare but quite nice to see. And the slim case specifically for the miyota 9's is... awesome. I wish there were more options out there and with rising costs of NH movements, that wish is only stronger. There simply aren't any 'crown at 3' miyota 9 series cases out there for sale like this- and it's really unfortunate.

NTH was a beloved microbrand that punched way above its price point before closing up. I was lucky enough to get my hands on genuine leftover NTH stock and assembled this myself. Every single part is 100% original NTH, unused, including the movement.

Fun one! I themed this as a spider-man watch that’s part of a wedding gift set for groom and his best man. The goal was to keep it classy but also pay homage to them both being comic book nerds and reflecting their fav hero (without it coming across as a ‘kids watch vibe’. The other half of this set is a Bruce Wayne with some yellow ‘utility belt’ elements- 3rd pic has them together.

Cases were slim sub sets from SHM, kept to a non gmt by request and was able to get a nh35 with a black/yellow date from dialmaker, but had to do a wheel swap for the white/red. Dials and hands from alix

36mm DJ - dial from DS looks even better in person 😍. Case and presidential bracelet from SHM- such a great value as a mid tier upgrade and I really recommend their permanent collection bundles

Super fun non-gmt (gmt style) build for a groom’s wedding day. He wanted the classy ‘Bruce Wayne’ look, but is also a big Batman comic book nerd. I thought it was cool he embraced my idea of adding a playful but subtle ‘wink wink’ and I love the result.

Meteorite dial gave a nice nod to bat cave / sharp aesthetics too. And the slim sub set from SHM makes it feel “hell yah”.

Looking forward to the best man’s ‘gmt spider man’ if the dial will ever arrive..

These ‘old stock’ parts from NTH going out of business are incredible. Miyota 9015 and 90s5 are such fun thin movements to build with. Cases built for them are even more of a treat with such little options out there. (One of the pics has this next to a standard alix skx007 case- it’s like half the size)

The NTH gilt dials are also stunning and so hard to capture how reflective the polished brass is on camera- definitely recommend people picking one up while they can or exploring more custom true gilt options from dial makers. Worth it. And the lume on these guys is bright enough to see in daylight. Brighte than (or at least equal to) OEM.

The red dial is from ds and that one is a gift build for my brother in law but I messed up and forgot it was bgw9 and so that’s on pause after getting a good start while parts come in.

Secondhand mods has some NTH parts left and they are amazing. Get them while you can because when they are gone they are gone. And there’s nothing else like these parts available on regular basis

I was browsing Aliexpress for more tools i absolutely do not need (i'm sure none of you know what i'm talking about...). And i came across this (thing i absolutely need) 'flat platform' that fits in the hand press tool/machines so you can have more freedom setting movements you don't have the little deciated holders for. Cool!

But what is the oval shape cutout for? And what's the divot/cutout on the side for?
