These 3 piece case builds are really fun but do not forget to lube all the gaskets. Top and bottom sections have their own dedicated o-rings. Each screw that passes through the case has 2 gaskets each, one for each half. Then of course the crown (which is push down). Keep that extra tub of silicon grease handy.

But worth it, holy smokes. I like these 31mm dials better than the 35mm larger cocktail builds (personal opinion YMMV) and the beige one really nails the sbgm221 rep aesthetic

Build them yourself! Or let me build it for you (Or have your fav builder use them, I don’t care). Nothing secret or exclusive going on with the parts- it’s more about who you want to work with.

now with all 4 colors i've seen available. I tried to get a better pic this time of the nice concave backside these have- really makes a difference hugging the wrist and feeling slimmer.

This white one is sold but the others are looking for new homes :)

Microbrand NTH sadly went out of business few years back. Luckily, I bought a bunch of new unused/unassembled stock before these parts are unavailable forever.

Super thin miyota 9015 date at 6, with specifically made (thin) case to go with it. Fully illuminated dial and insert with blacked out snowflakes. On a premium beads of rice bracelet.

Made this a bit ago as a directed commission (they sent me the case and I ordered OEM both dial and hands (srpc25 and sbdy136).

This is where I learned about 4.1 orientation nh36s. Had no idea that was a thing until i used a 3.8 crown nh36 and realized it was crooked (thank you /u/_Blitzer for the knowledge assist). Another day another lesson learned.

Lots of waiting on this one for various parts to arrive. But waiting is the main activity of this hobby..

Grand Seiko Tokyo Lion Tentagraph SLGC009 Rep with a vk63 movement. I could only find real life references of the brown dial variant, so the blue, white, and black dials may be 'fantasy'. But, they are so damn nice who cares.

My first batch of white date vk63s movements got lost in transit so i'm exercising patience while replacements arrive for the other color variants

I’m so inspired by builds on here and I’ve been trying [and properly struggling] to learn how to age with intent and depth.

I’m only focused on the dials here- using seiko ones as practice. Insert and case aging need to happen (zero aging on these inserts yet and are not fully installed) but separate topics entirely I suppose.

I’ve tried baking with coffee a few times with little to no effect. Face down in dry coffee and I stated at 200f for 10 min, and have slowly stepped up the temp at 5 min intervals. Still nothing noticeable from 325-350, but 375f was too much (obvious on one of the dials)

Separately, I use tamiya weathering kit B with certainly a more noticeable effect but I know I need to dial it back. Experimenting with diff brushes and applying.

And then the matte spray. I’m really frustrated trying to get some of that beautiful texture I see with dials on here. I’m using “krylon clear matte finishing spray” in short bursts from couple feet way letting it ‘mist’ the dial. Few bursts waiting 10 sec between each, but the spotted texture I’m looking for is all but nonexistent (very frustrated on this one- I’d love texture tips in particular

One thing to note- I’m guessing starting with a white lume hase will offer more control, but I’ve not been able to find these cheaper dials without a baseline tint anywhere. Maybe it’s just a matter of diving into raffles dials instead

A few various intensity-aged builds will WIP. The inserts haven’t been touched yet and need weathering- just loosely on there for now

I wish there were these dials with a white lume base, but I’ve never found them just like this (with seiko text) without tint. I may commission a run of white lumed ones for a clean starting point
