Šalu na stranu, dali je projekt dobro ispao?
Jasno mi je da neće nikad imati vrijednost kao tvornički Speedy ali mi je nebitno jer ga prodavat ne mislim nikada. Kad sam kupio prvi dio od slagalice tamo negdje u 6.mj 2024 nisam ni očekivao da će se ovaj projekt razvući na dvije godine. Čekanje pravih dijelova da uopće budu negdje stavljeni na prodaju i strpljenje dok ih sve nisam kupio će naravno bit nezaboravno.
Kakva su mišljenja?
Idući projekt već čeka : Tudor Submariner Snowflake 9401, zadnja slika 🙂

Recently acquired a 26mm viet dial with nice Lumework on it, but the hands were to light. Since i am waiting on the case and TC hands, figured im gonna play with these and try to match them to the dial.
Used tamiya weathering kit - light sand + mud.
I am pretty satisfied with how it turned out.
Put them in the ziplock with a package of silicagel. Since tamiya is clay based, not to leave any moisture on them.
It doesn’t really matter in my case, but if one was to apply tamiya and then assemble the whole watch he would probably be wondering why does he have fog inside 😂

Since i was waiting so long to be able to make this build (two years parts hunting) it was only reasonable to film it 😂

Compared my 3573.50 with Watchdives1863.
Maybe it would’ve make sense to compare the WD to newer gen of Speedmaster like 310.30.42.50.01.002 since WD is it’s direct hommage.
But anyhow, gotta say, watchdives you did amazing job! For a fraction of the price.

Ordered Bivintage case, raffles rolex bracelet with 580 endlinks and tc snowflake hands. First gonna try to match these hands to dial/indices aging but interested in how those tc hands are gonna look like.
Gotta say, really eager to bring this one to life.

Thinking about changing the insert on bivin case, someone got some insight?

Since i am not a huge fan of original 1498 bracelet, bought this uncle straps brushed/polished bracelet for my 3572.50. Fits perfectly, no sharp edges, very comfortable to wear! Job well done Uncle straps!

Took some nice shots today outside, looks better then i had expected

After two years collecting parts all over the net, a little over 2,7k€ in, and a whole lot of patience, it is finally done. Used a lot of different parts, some used, some NOS and some aftermarket. Had to polish out the hesalite which was fairly scratched and changed the chronograph bridge from Paul Picot to Omega NOS.

Recently "finished" my Snowflake in a Thorn 023 case... or at least I thought I had

Went back in, took it apart again, re-aged the indices, and installed new hands-then aged those to match the patina on the dial.

Next up was the case. The Thorn had really sharp edges and looked straight out of the factory, so I had to rough it up a bit. Nothing too crazy-just dulled all the edges, including the crown guards (as much as I could without removing the tube). It gave the watch a much more natural worn look.

Then came the bracelet. I initially had my Raffles Tudor bracelet mounted with the Thorn endlinks, but / didn't like how perfectly they fit—it didn't feel vintage at all. Swapped them out for Raffles 580 endlinks with 1.5mm curved spring bars, and now it looks like it's actually been worn, knocked around, and used.

Funny how a bit of imperfection can end up looking just right.

Recently got the Speedmaster case with Hesalite glass and Sapphire caseback for my Franken Speedy build, it was in rough condition, but i got it for a very reasonable price, much under its value.

The rest of the case is in very good condition ( being a little over 20 years old ) but that Hesalite was really scratched. Thank God there weren’t any deep scratches. Managed to buff them all off with polywatch and it took me around 10mins.

Very excited to continue this Franken journey!

Im really digging the feeling of this Thorn mod, and look of it.
