Did some nice fading/aging of my BiVin 9401 bezel insert, since i have a CAC mounted on my build. Turned out pretty sweet. Bleached it with diluted bleach w/q tips and made a single layer of scratches on it. What are your opinions?
I had the opportunity to closely inspect and review both straps on a WD1863 case. Wanted to do a small comparison for some of you who were thinking of jumping on to US1479 but wasn’t sure is is worth the extra (120-130$)
Imo, the US1479 is worth every penny. Fitted on wd1863 it resembles much more to a classic moonwatch from far then the wd bracelet.
But most importantly - the wearing. It is really comfortable and doesn’t pull any hairs whatsoever. As for the wd1863, i think we all tried it, have worn it (myself included) for ages and dont get me wrong, it’s not that bad of a bracelet at all (looking at those cheap vk63 bracelets wd is levels up) but compared to US doesn’t stand a chance.

To fit a uncle straps on wd1863 one would need to get US1479 for 1861 speedmaster.
I do not associate with Uncle Straps nor is this paid commercial for them, just my honest opinion.
Imo best switch ever with the gen Moon.

It‘s been now 2 months since i built it. Had been wearing it everyday ever since. It’s picking up some decent scratches along the way, which i like.
Gen eta 2770 still going strong.
Vintage nato strap pretty comfortable but one small metal plate on the under side that touches the wrist is releasing some color to the skin. I buffed/polished it out and now its okay!
Overall, very satisfied with the build!
Commisioned build of a rep Speedmaster built in WD1863 case, with rep caseback and crown.
The rep bracelet doesn’t fit the wd1863 case so the only way to fit the rep bracelet would be to get Uncle Straps 1479 endlinks which the customer would be doing himself afterwards.
Looks pretty neat now

Omega Speedmaster 3572.50 (3.-4.pic) - just like Tudor a long time Grail which i had intended to buy, but have found a good deal on used gen parts and decided i was gonna execute it myself (5.-6.pic).

Can‘t get enough of the 9401, overall such a beautiful watch, nice to wear, easy to read time. Daily driver easily!
Wanted to share a small comparison between a Thorn /w raffles dial build and fully gen spec viet build.
After finishing my Snowflake (viet case,viet dial,CAC insert,TC hands,Athaya crown and tube and gen eta 2770 movement) had to disassemble it again and age it properly.
It just looked to damn new. Now i went into softening the case (edges), crown guards and bezel ring.
The crown that is now mounted is a bivin crown (had an issue with athayas tube, waiting for a new one)
- Refinished the crown guards, bezel ring aged, case aged, hesalite took a beating from wearing it naturally.
