Yes you can?

Waiting on some parts and still trying to decide which strap to grab, so figured I'd come here for some opinions

Upgraded my moonswitch bracelet to a US1479, which has just arrived yesterday, and damn it looks so good. Now I'm thinking of upgrading the crown and caseback to look more like the genuine one. Anyone has recommendations for the crown + tube and caseback replacement on ebay? I use the WD1863 for the case. Sadly my country restricts AliExpress so I can't buy from there

Didn't plan it out. Made it from the left over parts of a few other watches. The dial has a bunch of issues, the case is misaligned, strap is wrinkled but I like the combo and don't have to think twice about what I'm doing that day when I throw it on.

I don't love it or hate it. But my kid will love it. Took me about 10 minutes.

But how do I calibrate the second hand it stops at :01

didn't stop me from putting it in a megir case but sheesh that subdial print is awful. this is from alibaba . i got black snoopy that was decent i actually like it.

Took a stab at my first switch. Let me say it was challenge but all because of my own doing. I decided to buy preowned WD1863 watches from WD directly. I knew one had a broken crown and one had a broken pusher. I figured easy fix… and for like 90 bucks for both I bought them. I spent so much time trying to fix both of those things but in the end I’m happy with the results. I’m waiting on some cases from Jason007 which should be plug and play from what I have heard. I’ll post an update.

This was my first case swap, and even with my watchmaking and repair experience, it came with a few challenges.

A keen eye will notice the chrono hand isn't the original. That's because this was a broken watch: the chrono and minute hands were touching. When I tried to pull the hands off, the chrono hand got stuck and snapped, so I had to replace it. I couldn't find a black one, but I think the silver looks kind of nice anyway.

So this was a double win: a better case and a fixed watch!

Next up is engraving the caseback. I've got a cool design ready. Pro tip: AI tools can create designs for you, recreate ones you like, and even give you vector and print-ready files.

What do you think? Does the new hand ruins it?

Black and gold has always been a killer combination, this one reminds me a lot the iconic Lotus 97T from the 1986 F1 season and Senn's maiden victory at the Estoril!

I had the opportunity to closely inspect and review both straps on a WD1863 case. Wanted to do a small comparison for some of you who were thinking of jumping on to US1479 but wasn’t sure is is worth the extra (120-130$)
Imo, the US1479 is worth every penny. Fitted on wd1863 it resembles much more to a classic moonwatch from far then the wd bracelet.
But most importantly - the wearing. It is really comfortable and doesn’t pull any hairs whatsoever. As for the wd1863, i think we all tried it, have worn it (myself included) for ages and dont get me wrong, it’s not that bad of a bracelet at all (looking at those cheap vk63 bracelets wd is levels up) but compared to US doesn’t stand a chance.

To fit a uncle straps on wd1863 one would need to get US1479 for 1861 speedmaster.
I do not associate with Uncle Straps nor is this paid commercial for them, just my honest opinion.

Love the quality of the 1969 reps so bought another. Gone gold case and strap. Went for a black and yellow/ gold bezel to try and better match the hands. Maybe I should have just gone rose gold but I quite like it.

Originally I wasn’t too moved by the 1969 but when I saw the silver rep, I had to get it. I had a Wd1863 and PD1766(silver machined bezel) sitting around and I’m glad I settled on the WD. For me the black/silver bezel breaks up the endeless silver the other case would have offered, not to mention the PD1766 is too large for the dial and the 33mm spacer was too small for the Pagani case. Very happy with this watch, love to see everyone else’s builds with this Silver 1969!
