This was my first case swap, and even with my watchmaking and repair experience, it came with a few challenges.

A keen eye will notice the chrono hand isn't the original. That's because this was a broken watch: the chrono and minute hands were touching. When I tried to pull the hands off, the chrono hand got stuck and snapped, so I had to replace it. I couldn't find a black one, but I think the silver looks kind of nice anyway.

So this was a double win: a better case and a fixed watch!

Next up is engraving the caseback. I've got a cool design ready. Pro tip: AI tools can create designs for you, recreate ones you like, and even give you vector and print-ready files.

What do you think? Does the new hand ruins it?

Hi! I found this for sale and I'm wondering if there are any obvious signs it might be fake. I haven't handled one of these before, so it's hard for me to tell.

It's pretty beaten up, but with a little TLC I think it could come back to life.
