Laureato 8010

Laureato 8010

Thinking of pulling the trigger on this but curious for any views…haven’t owned a GP before and not super clued up on the pros/cons of this reference beyond the basics. Advice gratefully received!

[Girard-Perregaux] Ref. 4930 - small case, big details

This is my GP Ref. 4930 from the Vintage 1996 line, a 1990s reinterpretation of a GP chronograph from around 1960. The case is only 36mm, but the unusual 21mm lug width gives it much more presence.

I particularly like the tall, box-shaped sapphire crystal, which gives the character of vintage plexiglass without the same vulnerability to scratches. Inside is the 63-jewel Calibre 3170—GP’s first chronograph calibre built on its slim in-house 3100 automatic base—with an 18k-gold rotor visible through the sapphire caseback. Compact, elegant and mechanically more interesting than it first appears.

Strap for Laureato 38mm

Hi everyone! I have a 38mm Girard-Perregaux Laureato that came on the metal bracelet, and I’d love to try it on leather. Has anyone had any luck finding a leather strap that fits the 38mm Laureato properly? OEM or aftermarket recommendations are both welcome. Thanks!

Girard Perregaux ref. 2530 tank

Hey everybody!

Just acquired this 90s GP tank which is seemingly very rare. I can’t find any direct mention of it anywhere. Closest thing is on a post about the 2532 the author mentions a small seconds variant existing. It’s not working, so I’m gonna service it. If watch maker confirms it to be real, which I believe it to be, it will be an incredible steal. Bought for way less than melt value. If anyone knows anything about this particular reference I would love to hear it!

Girard Perregaux - Laureato Fifty 36mm

A couple months ago, Justin Hast described the new 36mm Laureato with the rose-gold dial in a way that’s lived rent free in my head ever since.

Paraphrasing him: “I can picture myself years from now on the southern coast of Italy, tan, dressed in beautiful white linen, with this on the wrist—and it just works. It works now, and hopefully it’ll work just as well then.” (YouTube @ justin_hast)

Well… that statement may have worked a little too well on me.

I ended up getting the watch.

And now, two months later, I’m on vacation in Bordeaux with the whole family, surrounded by vineyards, linen on, Laureato 36mm on the wrist.

Not quite the southern Italian coast, but close enough…

Living out the statement that sold me on the watch, feeling amazing, and ever so fortunate and grateful.

Cheers
-Stephen
