Old road bike - should I rebuild or trash ?
Hello everyone!
I have an old road bike in storage (many years) and its rusted, flat, useless breaks... but it is still intact. I've wanted to get into recreational cycling and figured I'd try to bring this one back into good condition.
But I wonder if it is worth buying a brand new bike instead? I don't know much about bicycles/ parts, etc. as I am starting to get into the scene, but would like to start with lower budget set up and work my way up as needed.
I feel like if i take my bike to my local bike shop the price will likely be that of a new (entry-level) bike. And this is no problem with me. I like the idea of supporting local business. But I wonder if, in the long run, it would be worth getting a brand new bike.
I'd appreciate any advice! thanks in advance!
