Alstroemeria care advice
I, like many others, wanted to get my mom some flowers for mothers day. Admittedly, i took a lazy route because i know next to nothing about flowers and doordashed a bouquet of alstroemerias because the picture showed a bunch of nice yellow (my moms favorite colour) flowers and i thought that would be nice. When they showed up, it was a bouquet of purple buds. Upon further investigation i found out alstroemerias come in many colours, which is fine! And I figured they would likely bloom by tomorrow and that they came as buds to preserve longevity. The problem is they're still buds, and I dont exactly know if thats normal and/or how to ensure they do bloom once i give them to her. They also didnt come with any flower food like im used to seeing, so i would really love some help to ensure that I can give my mom the nice bouquet she deserves. Is there anything i can do to encourage them to bloom? Are there any good flower food substitutes i can make for them? Any instruction is appreciated!!
