Something ancient stirs beneath the lake.

With time running out and allies turning into enemies, the party makes a desperate gamble: a monstrous, jury-rigged bomb and a one-way trip into the heart of the beast’s domain.

This may be the bleakest, most intense session we’ve ever played.

The Reclaimers have entered the Black Monolith proper, and the tower is fighting back.

On the second floor they discover the Grand Plaza Ruins — a vast, broken space filled with whistling vents and a lethal black rad-mist. Before they can catch their breath, seven junk bots rise from the debris: fast Chargers, heavy Bruisers, a deadly Sniper, and a repair drone that undoes their progress almost as quickly as they make it.

The battle is long, ugly, and incredibly desperate. Lasers fail. Mental powers fail. In the end it comes down to grit, vibro-beaks, and whatever ammunition they have left.

D’Can’Tr continues to slowly die from Cardunkle’s grafted head, and the Black Monolith feels less like a building and more like a predator that has finally noticed the mice in its walls.
