IC now creating duplicate orders for out of stock items...
Apparently this has been a thing for some time, but it's the first time I've run into it. I placed an order, had every item found except for two. And thanks to the excellent shopper who was assigned the order, I quickly found a replacement for those items. She checked out, started on her way to my house.
And then I got a message from IC that they had created a second order to send a separate shopper to a separate branch of the same retailer to try to find the out-of-stock items. All without my knowledge or even my interest.
Huh?
I know IC can be inexplicable at times. But do they seriously expect another shopper to snap up a less than $5 order just because a couple of items were out of stock? Especially when an acceptable substitution had already been recorded?
Anybody with any insight into how often this happens, what the criteria are for it to happen (because I regularly run into items that are out of stock, and have never had this happen to me before) and where IC got the drugs that they're clearly smoking?
