Casio AP-S190 vs Roland FRP-NUVOLA EX (Costco Canada) - returning pianist after 10+ years, need advice

Hi everyone,

I’m trying to decide between two digital pianos from Costco Canada and would really appreciate input from people who have experience with either model.

Links for reference:
($850 CAD) Roland FRP-NUVOLA EX: https://www.costco.ca/p/-/roland-frp-nuvola-ex-digital-piano-with-bench-and-headphones/4000379711

($1200 CAD) Casio AP-S190: https://www.costco.ca/p/-/casio-ap-s190-digital-piano-with-bench/4000375962

Context
I’m an advanced player (around RCM Level 10+), I quit piano for over 10 years and am now getting back into it over the past year. I mainly play classical and some pop. I’ve tried both briefly in-store at different times.

My impressions
Casio AP-S190
Sound is honestly very good and full from the speakers
Key feel is lighter and easy to play
Repetition feels “okay” but not amazing
Overall enjoyable and very immediate sound-wise

Roland FRP-NUVOLA EX (only tried for a minute in store)
Key feel felt a bit heavier / more solid
Speakers felt less full compared to Casio
I initially thought it felt a bit heavy, but I haven’t played acoustic piano in 10+ years, so I’m wondering if that heavier feel is actually better long-term for technique.

Main questions
Which one is more realistic for advanced classical technique?
How is key repetition on both long-term (trills, fast repeated notes, repeated chords)?
How is pedal realism?
Does Roland’s slightly heavier feel actually translate to better long-term technique development?
In real practice, does Casio’s better speaker sound matter more than Roland’s action?

My main concern
I don’t want to outgrow the instrument, lose control at soft dynamics, or choose something that feels nice but limits classical progress later.

Would really appreciate any insight, especially from people who have played both or are familiar with any model. Or if there’s a better model on Costco for around the same price point (not looking to spend significantly more than the Casio model). Thanks!
