Jibarto at Omarcitos - must try!

Went to Omarcitos for lunch today. Was my first time visiting. We ordered the steak jibarto and catfish jibarto, though the catfish was especially my favorite. The catfish was crispy, but fluffy, and flavorful. the plantain were sweet and crunchy. It was a perfect substitute for bread. The steak jibarto was also very tasty, it came with onions and possibly a melted mozzarella cheese. The vibe was nice as they also had a DJ playing music from the 70s and 80s. The catfish jibarto was so friggin good. I definitely will be back!

Beity and the $32 hummus

I was in West Loop today for work and wanted to pop in for hummus before I head home. I’ve been to this place two or three times before and food has always been outstanding. Today In particular, I wanted a bowl of hummus before I head home. But the price stopped me in my tracks. Did anyone notice that their menu changed and now the hummus is a whopping $32. I was blown away at the price and I just couldn’t justify it. The server mentioned that they changed menu recently. Prices are expensive here. What are your thoughts re: this place, is it worth the price point?
