Just trying to put the pieces together cuz it's fun. I've gathered from the movie and a bunch of online stuff the war between Eden and the COI.

I guess my two biggest questions are:

Was Simon "The Butcher" before Filament station? I'm seeing sources say that part of his mission was to bring back bodies to use as fertilizer for The Last Tree (which makes sense human sacrifice is very on brand for cults).

and

If I'm understanding what happened at Filament right, there was a second REAL mission Simon didn't know about, to destroy the station itself. Somehow Simon got left behind in COI territory to take the fall, is that right?
