Ohtani on Dodgers or Angels?

Need opinions for my MLB The Show all-time roster universe. I think I’m leaving Ohtani off the Dodgers and putting him on the Angels , but I’m torn.

Angels Ohtani was legendary and carried that franchise for years, but if I’m doing all-time value and peak version, Dodgers Ohtani may end up being the better choice.

My problem is against lefties. I already use Piazza at DH and Campanella at catcher. If Ohtani is on the Dodgers, what would you do? Bench him against lefties? Move him to the outfield? Keep him in the lineup anyway because he’s Ohtani?

Trying to keep this realistic and avoid roster inflation.

Duplicates debates for all-time roster

So I’m probably sticking to mostly no duplicates because I know a lot of people hate duplicates in all-time rosters, but there are some players where it honestly hurts franchise history if they only go on one team.

For example:

Alex Rodriguez:
some people say Mariners only because that was peak A-Rod
Yankees fans are gonna say where is A-Rod then?

Jimmie Foxx:
Athletics or Red Sox?
because if Foxx is only on the Athletics then Ortiz pretty much has to play first base for Boston since he was mainly a DH

Reggie Jackson:
obviously Athletics legend
but “Mr. October” is also huge Yankees history
Mark McGwire:
probably Athletics only

Nolan Ryan:
Rangers and Angels both feel wrong without him
plus there are already two versions of him in the game
Frank Robinson:
Reds and Orioles both feel important

Randy Johnson:
I would maybe duplicate him for Mariners and Diamondbacks but there’s not really a good Diamondbacks version in the vault right now unless somebody makes one for me

So my question for the community is:
Do we want:
absolutely no duplicates at all?
OR
maybe like 3–5 duplicate exceptions for franchise-defining legends?
Because if we go strict no duplicates then some teams are gonna lose major history and Greg Nettles might end up starting at third for the Yankees.

All Time Rosters MLB the Show26

Estimated completion date: 27 days from now.
Rosters will include all legends/ former players I can find in the vault., not just players already in the game. I’m not gonna create any players because that’s too much for me and they won’t look realistic. I’m not good at that.
All the players in the game, all the veterans in the game for that matter, I’m putting back on their main teams like Paul Goldschmidt back to Arizona and making him from 72 to 92 and Max Scherzer back on Washington from a 71 or whatever he is to 97 again.
Not just the important players either. I will be changing ratings for everybody, including Andrew Chafin for the Diamondbacks.
I just made this roster in MLB The Show 24 before I decided to buy 26. If you wanna go check it out my tag is morningamester on PlayStation.
I do one team a day and there’s way too many 99s given by the game so I will be making those realistic. Example:
Luis Gonzalez from 99 to 94
Alan Trammell from 99 to 96
And any small guys for depth that are already in the game, in the minor leagues, free agency, or in the vault currently, I’m putting them back on their main team and giving them their best realistic rating.
I’ll probably check after the season to see what people have made and maybe update the roster.
But I have a question and I need to know people’s opinions on duplicate players like:
Jimmie Foxx
Reggie Jackson
Mark McGwire
Alex Rodriguez
Robinson Canó
There’s a bunch of duplicates.
Are we not doing duplicates at all and please decide which teams for all the guys who are debatable, or are there like five guys you agree should have duplicates because if they weren’t included it would take a lot away from the franchise’s history?
