why is my string if pearls look like tears? is it just tears?

I purchased and propagated some string plants a while back and they have been growing well. However, my string of pearls is growing long leaves that resemble a string of tears. At first, I thought that they were the "baby leaves" and will slowly become round. Now, I am not sure anymore since there's so many of them! Is this just a string of pearls? But as you can see, the guys in the soil that I planted are all pearls!! I'm so confused!!
