Surefire RC4 review
Took until just last month to finally receive the thing.
Notes: built like a tank at 2 oz heavier than the silencerco velos.
Finish: weak. Parts had already rubbed down to the metal from in bouncing around in the box. It’ll probably look very marked up after some actual range time.
Sound review: notably louder shooting the same ammo through the same gun compared to the velos. Seemingly louder than a huxwrx TI but fired from a different gun of same barrel length 16”.
I guess the selling point of this must be the flash suppression and it being somewhat less gassy to the face when mag dumping (true, but barely better imho). Perhaps overall it’ll outlast other suppressors since this seems to be a hybrid design of baffles and a few flow channels on the outside.
Honestly you’ll be better off with the rc2 or something else.
I have not fired an rc2 myself. The call is based off my reviews of other reviews.
For what I have direct comparison to I rank the velos over the rc4 for sound suppression and cost ($1100 with a mount). The hux wins over the rc4 for weight, sound suppression, and cost ($800 with a mount is a deal)
Rc4 is less gassy, built entirely from inconel (high heat tolerance), and per Surefire claims is the best at flash suppression (which could be a big deal).
I paid $1400 shipped/otd, but had to buy a $200 muzzle device.
