Work Shop Colorado Negative Experience

If you’re considering a home with Work Shop Colorado, go in with your eyes wide open. It is going to be terrible experience. They fall short of the luxury brand they claim to be.

The build experience was one thing. I’ll leave that to others.

If you buy from them, I would strongly suggest assuming you need to set aside your own warranty fund. You will need to push constantly, and be prepared to solve more on your own than you should have to on a new home. This includes things not built to code that you will be left to clean up. This includes things that never worked at closing that over a year later still don’t work.

Once the sale is done, they are gone. Warranty issues have been met with delays, deflection, half-measures, and a general unwillingness to stand behind the quality of the work. And not a small amount of problems. Not insignificant problems. Problems that should have been straightforward to address turned into a constant battle just to get basic follow-through.

I know the reaction will be, “well yeah, all builders are rough after closing.” Wrong. This is not normal builder sloppiness or the usual punch-list frustration. This has been materially worse than any builder experience I’ve heard from friends, neighbors, or anyone else I’ve talked to. The level of disregard after closing has honestly been shocking.

For the avoidance of doubt this isn’t some disgruntled outburst. It’s a genuine warning so people know what they’re getting into and what I wish someone had told me before I bought. And they have plenty of new units approaching completion and coming to the market soon around Denver and Golden.

If you’re buying from Work Shop Colorado, make sure every single thing you care about is fully addressed before closing, because once they have your money, you should assume the warranty document isn’t worth the paper it is written on. If anyone wants specifics, send me a DM and I’m happy to walk through the issues we’ve dealt with.
