Spent the last 11 months developing a golf fitness and practice app (launches today, would love feedback)
Hi all,
I'm Barry, a 5 handicap based in Killenard, Co. Laois, with a busy life who's trying to get better.
I had been searching for a good app for golf practice and fitness and didn't like the user experience of anything on the market, so I've spent the past 11 months building an app called ApexGolf to solve this.
This is not another vibe-coded app which was put together in a fortnight. I genuinely can't describe how much work has gone into it.
It uses AI, but it's deliberately not swing analysis or another AI coach. It's two things:
Structured practice. Sessions with a bit of intent and a record of what you did, instead of pounding 100 balls at the range and going home depressed.
Golf fitness. Simple stuff to rotate and move better, built for people who don't live in a gym.
The whole thing runs on an 80/20 idea. Log the minimum that's genuinely useful, skip the admin, let small consistent data do the work. It doesn't feel like homework.
It's out today on App Store and Google Play, and you can test it out with a two week trial without committing any cash.
I'd rather hear what's broken from people who actually practice in Irish conditions than guess. Would love for you to give it a go, and I'm happy to answer any questions below!
