$70 cash for a 10-minute taxi ride?!
Got out of a concert recently and went to grab a taxi. The driver asked where I was going and then casually said, “$70 cash.” 😭
I asked him to put the meter on because I’m pretty sure he can’t just charge a random flat rate, but he refused and basically told me, “Sorry, there’s nothing I can do.”
Ended up getting an Uber down the street for $12 for the exact same ride.
Like… I get it, everyone’s trying to make money, but $70 cash for a 10-minute ride is wild. Is this something I should report?
