Just saw a lady who looked eerily like Karla Homolka walking down Fairmont street in Mile End, and now I can’t unsee it 😳 Anyone know if she’s back in Montreal or was it just her doppelgänger?
Montreal staple!
I’m a long-time Montrealer, and for years, Terry & Ted were part of my morning routine on Mix 96. That’s why it’s so disappointing to see them among the signatories of an open letter urging Montreal City Council to vote down the motion that would recognize and denounce the genocide in Gaza and suspend institutional ties with Israel’s current government.
Israel is killing people as we speak and bragging about it. It has been going on for three years with no end in sight. Why are they attacking efforts to bring this to a halt? This isn't about antisemitism, it's about opposing killing kids in Gaza. Were Terry and Ted always this right wing and cruel?
Hey my fellow Montrealers,
I know that there's board game pubs in the city like Pub Randolph Ludique and such but I wanted to make a Board & Card game club anyways.
Because here's the thing, sure you can meet people at those board games pub but there's still a lot of shy people in this city! Sometimes meeting people at bars you don't know before knowing them is challenging! Especially for introverts!
So I figure why not start up a Discord server that will serve as the link to meet new people and the host of a potential Montreal Board & Card game club!
Thru the Discord group, you can introduce yourself, make some contacts and go to planned board game events thru the Discord group and meet people thru these events!
All enthusiasts of all board and card games are welcomed to join and I think it can be a good opportunity to meet new people and possibly make new friends! I mean why not?
Here's the Discord link, so if you're interested, come join us and let's play some games!
The Patisserie Marché de l'Ouest closed down this past Sunday. I was really sad to see it go as they had some really nice donuts. Small, simple variety, but delicious. I've never seen any mentions of them online even though they usually sold out in like a day.
They didn't make them, though, and instead ordered small batches from a distributor/provider every Friday and Saturday. I can't seem to get ahold of anyone from the Patisserie MDO to ask who they ordered from.
Is there any way I can try to reach them at this point? If not, is there anywhere I can check online for bakery & pastry distributors in the Montreal area? Doing google searches mostly just brings up donut shops, and not smaller suppliers to grocers, etc.
Now I regret not taking photos of their donuts over the years. If it might ring a bell for anyone familiar, 2 of the notable varieties are cake based, available in chocolate and cherry flavors. There's no hole in the center like ring donuts, so they're like pucks or mushroom tops. They're very similar in shape to the round walnut crunch donuts, even with the ridges/cracks along the top. They also had an apple fritter, cinnamon and glazed twist, and the classic chocolate dipped one.
Really hoping someone could help out with this.
What a shit show ce matin, aucune alerte de messages, aucune information de navette sur le website.
Everyone just accept being late for work.
Alley behind my apartment behind the homeless shelter on saint Catherine and the evangelical chruch. Thank god im moving end of the month.
Got out of a concert recently and went to grab a taxi. The driver asked where I was going and then casually said, “$70 cash.” 😭
I asked him to put the meter on because I’m pretty sure he can’t just charge a random flat rate, but he refused and basically told me, “Sorry, there’s nothing I can do.”
Ended up getting an Uber down the street for $12 for the exact same ride.
Like… I get it, everyone’s trying to make money, but $70 cash for a 10-minute ride is wild. Is this something I should report?
Good afternoon, I am about to travel to Ontario and would like to dodge as much traffic as possible. I am new to the city and would like to know how early I would need to leave on a week day to dodge the morning rush hour. I can leave as early as 3am but would like to sleep a bit haha Thanks!
I recently went for a beauty service in Montreal that already cost more than $200. When it was time to pay, the machine suggested tips starting at 15%.
I understand tipping for good service, but I was surprised because the service was already quite expensive. Is tipping 15–20% generally expected for beauty services in Montreal, regardless of the original price? Do you tip the same percentage when the service costs over $200, leave a smaller fixed amount, or not tip at all?
I’m genuinely curious about what others consider normal—not trying to criticize the worker or the quality of the service.
Some recent film scans from a Philadelphian who was in Montreal last month visiting family. You've got a beautiful city.
We visited Toronto before we came here and it sounds like it would have been easier to buy them in Toronto BUT it’s too late for that! Does anyone know of anywhere that sells Hawkins Cheezies?? Checked IGA, Maxi, looked on Tigre Geant’s website… can’t…find…them…anywhere. Any help will be greatly appreciated. We’re flying out tomorrow evening but we’re going to run around and try to stock up on Smarties, various candy bars, some maple syrup if we can find the right kind of store, and hopefully some Cheezies! I’ll gladly take any suggestions on other stuff we should grab… thank you!!! My 2nd time visiting and I Love this city
Bonjour!
