Gym du Plateau another scandal...? Need help

I’m posting this on behalf of a friend who doesn’t yet feel comfortable sharing what happened to her publicly

She recently experienced a very troubling situation with one of the gym’s trainers—let’s call him Y. According to her account, he took advantage of his position as a trainer to try to hit on her and repeatedly crossed boundaries she clearly did not want crossed.

So, she did what a client is normally expected to do in this situation: she reported the incident in writing to management.

And since then: total silence.

No reply. No follow-up. And as far as we know, her email wasn’t even forwarded to the owners.

What concerns me even more is that, after checking the Google reviews, I found several comments describing similar behavior. At this point, she is seriously considering filing a formal complaint against Y, but she’s afraid she’ll be criticized for waiting a few days to do so, or that she won’t be taken seriously.Does anyone here know what the appropriate avenues for recourse are in Montreal for this kind of situation? And most importantly: can a delay of a few days really work against her?I should also mention that I, personally, have felt uncomfortable with the attitude of certain male staff members—specifically one other person whose behavior can be particularly arrogant and intimidating.

And that’s exactly what’s so frustrating: the gym is beautiful; it looks like a lot of money has been invested in the place recently. But you can invest as much as you like in the premises and equipment: if clients do not feel respected or safe with certain staff members, there is a much more significant problem to address.
