The Quiet War Over Dogecoin
A member of the Litecoin community is weighing in on the many issues and scandals surrounding The Dogecoin Foundation, House of Doge and more.
A very interesting read!
Found while digging in our archives: OG Shibes will remember DogeMiner 2. Enjoy! 😁
dogeminer2.comIs there a way to add new fonts for dyslexics?
Something like OpenDyslexic or Lexend?
Thanks!
Best AI options for turning my tracks into music videos?
I've got a decent catalog now that I'm proud of and want to start turning them into high quality music videos. What platform/software do you recommend?
Thanks!
OGs who remember Sporklin know that she would be kicking ass right about now.
Those who remember Sporklin will remember how fiercely she defended Dogecoin. In fact her biteyness was pretty legendary, in that regard.
And one thing she truly was concerned about was the Dogecoin Foundation trying to take over Dogecoin. She believed in a separation of church and state, so to speak, and that the Foundation should never have any control over the project itself - in retrospect much our own disagreements came from my support of the Foundation back then, I never could see what she did, what she was so concerned about.
As it turns out, her concerns were more than justified because, as it turns out, it wasn't long after her passing that the Dogecoin Foundation began to work toward exactly that goal: taking control of the Dogecoin project.
For years they have been quietly and, recently, less quietly working toward that goal.
Please put your attention on this and what they've been up to.
Much Love,
GS
Thinking of starting a Dogecoin-only business. How much would you pay, in Dogecoin, to buy a really cool limited edition Dogecoin T-Shirt?

The "Exclusive Licencing Agreement" between Own The Doge and Atsuko Sato
Sharing this here for historical significance.
Released during their lawsuit against a project called Cocoro, this never before released agreement articulates the licensing agreement between Own The Doge and Atsuko Sato (owner of Kabuso).
Interestingly, this agreement is only a license and not a transfer of copyright and, even more so, appears to be signed by one "Tridog" adding a rather dubious layer to the whole situation.
Could this Doge-related copyright lawsuit impact Dogecoin's branding at all?
Hey all,
There’s an ongoing copyright lawsuit involving Doge-related imagery and a crypto project that’s currently active in federal court.

You can download the full 42-page complaint as a PDF here:
Assertions in the lawsuit:
Own The Doge claims that Atsuko Sato (owner of Kabuso) licensed to them:
The right to "stand in Sato's shoes... register, enforce, defend, and otherwise act as Sato in any commercial or legal matters relating to the licensed materials."
That the licensing agreement between them grants "...the broadest grant of rights possible under applicable law..." and the right to "stand in Licensor's shoes."
They claim that Atsuko licensed"...registered or unregistered trademarks, trade names, copyrights, logos, branding and designs... 'now or hereafter known'..." including future pets.
This is incredibly broad language and my concern is that, if accepted by the court, it could be interpreted as giving them broad reach over and including Dogecoin's branding, logo, etc
They further claim:
- "the public has come to identify the Doge Meme and all related intellectual property, including the Cocoro IP, with Plaintiff and its products."
This is why we felt it was worth highlighting to the community at large for discussion.
Thanks,
GS
