Getting my old Rocky Mountain Vapor running again

I live in the country and would use this for very casual riding on pavement and flat trails. I'm not a bike mechanic but I'm pretty handy. Here are the details:

  • 8 speed cassette, labeled CS-HG30-8I
  • 3x "RPM" crankset (still on, waiting on removal tool). Needs to go due to weird /non-standard 104 BCD chainring attachment (mid and outer chainrings "sandwich" the spider. Mid chainring holes are threaded extrusions that fit inside the spider's holes). Chainrings are toast.
  • BB is 73mm wide, square taper. "Sounds" fine and spins freely.

I need new crank/chainring, new cassette. Probably new derailleur and shifter. New brake levers (v-brakes).

I honestly don't care about 3x vs 2x vs 1x - I just need the components to play nice. I'm having a heck of a time navigating the compatibility/availability/price gauntlet. I even enlisted the help of AI but I'd rather not get into that disaster.

Yes - I know it's probably not a good use of time or resources, but I have the bike and a bit of time. I just need help keeping the budget under control while not sacrificing my enjoyment.

I'd appreciate some guidance, and I can provide more information if I missed something. Also, I'm in Canada and would like to avoid import duty if I can.

2024 ES300h Climate Control

Is anyone else's climate system trying to flash freeze them? My commute is about an hour. In the morning or in winter, 71 degrees works like a charm. In the summer, on the drive home, the system "over cools" - it never stops blowing super cold air. I get that after sitting in the sun all day the system might need to work harder to cool down the interior, but this is happening well into my commute. I have to bump the temp up to 75 to get it to stop. This drives me crazy because it undermines my argument with my wife who likes to mess with the thermostats during temperature extremes.
