Resume question

Hi all,

I’m a professional (female) applying for jobs in Austria. Back home in North America, photos on résumés aren’t used at all, but from what I’ve read online, it seems common (even expected) on CVs.

Can anyone confirm if this is still the norm, or has it become optional/outdated?

Also curious if there are any specific standards I should follow if I do include one (style, dress code, background, etc.).

Thanks in advance for any insight!

Moving to Vienna

Hi everyone, as the title suggests, I’ll be relocating from Canada to Vienna next year.

Since I hold European citizenship, I won’t need to deal with visas or related paperwork.

I’m hoping to hear from anyone who has moved to Austria (Vienna in particular) from abroad, any general advice or tips would be really appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

Moving to Vienna

Dual EU and Canadian citizen planning to relocate to Vienna. I don’t speak German yet but I’m starting lessons now to get to a basic conversational level before I arrive.

I work in banking/finance and would love any insight on:

**•**	How important German actually is for finance/banking roles in Vienna (is English enough at the big institutions?)
**•**	Which companies/sectors are hiring foreigners in this space (Erste Group, Raiffeisen, UniCredit Bank Austria, OeNB, etc.)
**•**	Typical salary expectations
**•**	Neighborhoods that are good for young professionals
**•**	Anything about the work culture or hiring process that surprised you

Also open to general moving tips — housing market, registration/bureaucracy (Meldezettel etc.), or anything you wish you’d known beforehand.

Thanks!
