Bought me an EV9 - Help me understand Plug&Charge

Hey all - 2 days into my 2026 Land EV9 Nightfall - and I am loving it. I have had EV's prior, but after some really crappy experience's with our Nissan Ariya and public DC chargers (Level 2 worked fine), we stopped doing any charging outside the house.

With the EV9 with NACS, I am more excited to do more road trips. My father has a Rivian R1S, and when he goes to charge, all he does is plug in, and the car starts charging, as long as its one of the chargers on his map, and it charges his Rivian account. Really sweet stuff.

Ok so I have the Kia Charge Pass, and have my card connected, but when we went to an Electrigy America charger as a test charge, I had to pay as a guest. I will say that the CCS to NACS adapter worked flawlessly, no plug, unplug dance, but not the seamless experience my dad enjoys.

I have been trying to research this, but the infomation online is a mix of outdated video's and explainers that seem to gloss over all the finer points.

Do I need each providers app? Was it the adapter that messed it up? Am I hoping for a feature that doesn't exist?

My hope was that the kia app auto-negotiated with the chargers and just charged my Kia Charge account. What am I doing wrong? I am planning a cross-country road trip this coming week and I want to be ready.

Thank you!

EDIT - MY dad's Rivian is the 26, also with NACS, if that changes anything
