Marketing on LinkedIn for a Systems Integrator with Paid Ads

So, at my job, I'm in charge of our marketing efforts on two distinct channels. Twitter and LinkedIn. Now, content-wise, we have a bunch of stuff. At my job, we're a small company that assembles custom PC's for use in any field needed; this ranges from personal gaming PC's, large-scale laptop orders for schools, or powerful servers for government and corporate agencies.

Now for LinkedIn, I focus on a direct business-to-business model, making posts that brag about the complex systems we do, the services we provide with our warranties, etc. etc. But our CEO has been hesitant to use paid Ads. Mostly because the last marketing person just used the budget to boost posts instead of running paid ads.

And given what we do, the reasonable assumption is that we should use video- or image-based ads to promote ourselves. Now I'm pretty sure I can talk my boss into doing a trial run of paid ads and seeing if we get more business through them. However, I've never run paid advertisements before; heck, this is my first marketing job period, but I seem to be doing a good job so far.

What are some things to keep in mind for marketing on LinkedIn through Ads?

Would you guys do the same as Rudy?

So a lot of Rudy’s success comes from him becoming a mage, now there’s other reasons for this (the reincarnation method giving him ungodly amounts of mana for example) but forgoing those factors. Would you guys also become a mage like Rudy or would you try at a different role?

Going from the Dark Tower to the Talisman.

So I finally finished the dark tower series just in time for Sai King to announce Other Worlds than These. Now obviously I’m gonna read possibly it but I need to read the other books in the trilogy. So I started reading the Talisman, however I’m like eight chapters in and…..it’s not really grabbing me?

Now this could be a couple reasons, maybe it’s the fact I’m reading one of those paperbacks that are shrunk down to fit in your pocket? I personally don’t like those but it was the only one that my bookstore had and it was cheap.

It could be that Jack doesn’t really….jump out? Like, his quest is perfectly reasonable. Hell I know for a fact I’d be doing the exact same thing he would be doing if I was in his shoes. But unlike Jake, or Charlie from Fairy Tale, I don’t get much personality from him. It could be that’s intentional this early on and I’ll get more as his journey across the territories continue.

But what I really hope it’s not is that the writing might not be gripping me. I haven’t read anything from Peter Struab so I can’t speak on his style, but I definitely FEEL king’s style here being mixed with someone else’s. And it’s not bad! I just don’t know if the combination is throwing me.

I really hope it’s not the third option because I know that these two had a very deep friendship and I want to read this trilogy.

Speed vs detail

So I’ve been working as a Digital Marketing Associate at my work for the last few months and overall I like my job. However my co-worker isn’t the easiest person to get along with at times. That’s a whole rant in of itself but they said something to me that I want to objectively consider.

I’m working in photoshop to make social media promotions for our Memorial Day sale. She sees this and says that ‘that’s a waste of time. Just get on Canvas like me and use the templates.’

Now it could be that I’ve worked in photoshop for a long time so I’m just more comfortable in it. But they are, objectively, correct in that Canvas templates are faster. But I think that it also is somewhat unoriginal. But am I planting my flag on the wrong hill here? Should I argue for being precise at the cost of speed? Or should I prioritize that over originality?
